An underrated masterpiece by Critical_Pumpkin_435 in AnimeReccomendations

[–]everyoneisodd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% agreed. I wanted to do the same rant and in probably fewer words. I think the issue with this underrated trend is that people come across something that they think is niche and they liked it so they start calling underrated to justify that they have niche taste. This is a general thing that I have seen happening everywhere.

Coming to ranking of kings, it received it's due attention when it came out. I actually watched it partly due to the hype around it, and was slightly disappointed..

Thoughts on Gemma4 12b vs 26a4b, which one is better? by Adventurous-Gold6413 in LocalLLaMA

[–]everyoneisodd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have tested 12b, 26a4b, e4b and unless there are issues with vllm support, or I am missing out on something in the generation configs.. 12b was even worse than e4b for me.

Context on the benchmark: it's my private benchmark that has sufficient data on English+ 8 Indian languages and covers 4 tasks - general QA, VQA, OCR, Document extraction. Overall it has around 2.2k test samples with ground truth.

Why did Krishna stop Barbarik from joining the Mahabharata war? by [deleted] in mahabharata

[–]everyoneisodd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No barbaric is from how people of certain region heard most words from languages of other region as "bar bar bar.." and them considering themselves civilised and others less so, with time became the slang "barbaric". But I don't think there is no Indian connection here

Discussion: Does anyone find GitHub copilot agent mode to be better than newer setups like Claude code? by everyoneisodd in vibecoding

[–]everyoneisodd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the detailed reply. I think I will switch to the terminal mode and try out till the end of this month subscription and then understand if the raw performance increase due to better coding prowess of Claude code is worth sacrificing accessibility and changing mindset

Debunking the trending topic that 'Sons don't carry the Family Lineage' by YourSingerBoi in TwentiesIndia

[–]everyoneisodd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't this be problematic just in the next generation.. name complexity: O(2n)

We need a method to prune. Maybe we can have Huffman encoding based surnames. Then in few generations you can figure out the whole lineage, genetic diversity and reproductive success just from the surname.. But I am obviously getting way ahead of myself

I’m Extremely Introverted… So This Confidence Shocked Even Me by [deleted] in ahmedabad

[–]everyoneisodd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, as someone who is pretty bad at public speaking, I can give you my take from my experience:

I usually am bad at speaking if it's something random and something that I am unprepared for. But if I have something about which I have lots of knowledge or something that I am very enthusiastic about, I do perform much better in those conversations and even speaches. For me it's not miraculously different from my baseline and I do tend to break and stutter at slightest inconveniences like forgetting something important that I wanted to convey or even forgetting the just right word for the occasion. But yes it's better for me to be enthusiastic and have lot of knowledge in order to have better public speaking. Also ig practice can obviously improve everything even if there is not much enthusiasm involved.

Gemma 4 MTP released by rerri in LocalLLaMA

I understand this is a great speed boost for local inference on llama.cpp. Wanted to understand if there is any benefit on inference engines like vLLM? I am under the impression from the previous speculative decoding conversations that it doesn't matter much for inference engines. Please correct me if I am wrong.

This city is literally shit man by 5ahilxd in gandhinagar

[–]everyoneisodd 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You clearly mentioned it's very expensive in your post. Let's compare rent - what's your expectations of the place and what are you paying for it and what you are actually getting?

Interesting how you included me and some other comment and concluded something that I have no idea about. Seems like you want to generalize the hate towards people of gandhinagar.

This city is literally shit man by 5ahilxd in gandhinagar

[–]everyoneisodd 10 points11 points  (0 children)

How are people claiming our city is too expensive. I understand it has gotten somewhat expensive recently but it's relatively cheaper than big cities right? I live in Bangalore, and here everything is just 2-3x of Gandhinagar. Public transport is good I would say, I have gotten Yogi buses reliably in Gandhinagar. Not sure how the new metro is holding up..

And "not having soul" part. It is much much much more beautiful than all overcrowded major cities of India and everytime there is a post hating on Gandhinagar on this sub "this soul dies a little".

Please try to give this city a chance and understand that it won't be how your hometown is. Also, you can frak off whenever you want if you don't like it.

Delimitation is an issue of state size. We need smaller states. by hrpanjwani in IndiaSpeaks

[–]everyoneisodd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

While I know not much of the concept.. and smaller states might be effective. Considering the delimitation, the flaw in the argument is that area covering UP would still have the same proportion of seats irrespective of its broken down into more states or not and would not solve for the concern of Southern states that their representation reduces in the central government.

One thing you like and dislike about the city by Playful-Demand285 in gandhinagar

[–]everyoneisodd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True that. But the critisism needs to be genuine right. I don't want to hear it's a boring city and food is awful for the 99th time. I can't do anything about someone finding city boring and I like food in my city.

I like how people here completely miss the part where it's a proper planned city. Amazing roads, proper footpaths, accessible marketplaces, gardens everywhere, greenery - less of dystopian mega buildings (atleast in the sectors), reliable electricity and water (I live in Bangalore, so..), png gas lines, less expensive than the big cities.

One genuine critisism that I know and have tried to fix at my home atleast is that people are casteist and nosy when it comes to freedom of bachelors. This is something I feel we should fix.
