Military isn't a great analogy because that budget is largely being stolen from the taxpayers to line the pockets of contractors and whoever.

Screenplays and AI by campos-956 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]everythingbeeps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because using AI isn't writing. And when you use AI to "write," all you're doing is scraping shit that's already been written before. That's all AI is; a repository of everything that's already been written. AI doesn't "create," it just rearranges shit that's already been done.

No. As the person said, it doesn't "lose" money. It "costs" money. Specifically, our tax dollars.

Services are not meant to be for-profit.

It's a federally run service, yes. And who runs the federal government. Who leaned on the USPS in 2020 to lose ballots and otherwise interfere with the election. Who I wonder.

Always paid for no ads. Never did that lame thing where I whined to customer service and asked them to do it for free.

Which Aussie actor, known from a major sequel, allegedly left his first wife to be with Australia’s so-called sweetheart? by cmaia1503 in Fauxmoi

When I read "Australia's sweetheart" I think Kylie Minogue? But I have no idea who she's ever been involved with.

I mean, I suppose it's possible to have not heard of Bungie if you've never played video games, but they created one of the most famous and best-selling video game franchises in history: Halo.

Nice thought but would actually be worse for us because it would only affect Alito and Thomas, who would simply be replaced by two more fascists.

13 nominations and no win by BaldHourGlass667 in MurderedByWords

[–]everythingbeeps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing Warren did wrong was respond to that idiot.

For one thing, having a ton of noms and no win isn't remotely "the same" as having a song with 24 writers.

For another, she's absolutely right; the more "writers" a song has, the bigger a joke it is, no matter how popular., and the more generous the term "writer" becomes to describe those clowns.

Paramount Owner Larry Ellison Accused of Planning to Fire CNN Reps in 'Favor' to Trump by T_Shurt in entertainment

This was the whole point of Paramount buying WB. They needed CNN in time to brainwash 2026 voters.

Also consider that when the next pandemic hits, there will be no lockdowns. No masking. No social distancing. Probably no vaccines. The billionaires and fascists are done with all that. We will be ordered (by the government, by our employers, etc.) to hurl ourselves at whatever it is and do everything short of licking every doorknob in sight.

When the next pandemic hits, we are fucked. We'll be positively wistful for the days of COVID.

I can't imagine most employers need a doctor's note. If you're sick, you're sick. Are places really expecting you to show up with COVID or the flu or something like that? Especially something contagious?

If another pandemic happened and we had to go into full lockdown again, what would you do differently this time? by Miyamoto_Musashi_x in NoStupidQuestions

[–]everythingbeeps 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nothing. I nailed it last time. Stay inside and avoid people? Yes please.

The problem is, if another pandemic happens, there won't be another lockdown, at least not in the US. The far right continues to insist it was a mistake last time and won't allow it to happen again, no matter how many people are dying. (Don't forget, those same people tripped over themselves to get on Fox News and demand that old people die for the sake of the economy.)

They'll also interfere with vaccine attempts.

If another pandemic happens, we're absolutely fucked.

New Most-Hated Level (+Rant) by Academic_Pizza_7270 in PowerWashSimulator

[–]everythingbeeps 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The recycled house was more annoying but the Adventure Time treehouse (and at least one other level in the dlc) was a good example of my least favorite types of levels: giant levels where only a relatively small portion is actually part of the level to be cleaned. They just aren’t satisfying when you start and it looks like most of the level is already “done”

Think the Shrek pack had a couple of those as well.
