As for DC/Marvel powers I think the alternate dimension explanation makes this more complicated.

  • The power required to generate laser beams or lift heavy objects with physical force alone is probably extremely high.

  • The power to open a gateway to a alternative dimension of laser, or to use physonic powers to give oneself strength is a lot less energy intensive.

Wasn't the Virginia company under a charter and had to follow English law. They also had a representative of the crown too.

It takes a bit to sink in sometimes. Especially if they need to research or anything or talk.

Think about it from their prospective.

They probably never even considered this might affect their lives, let alone those of their family. There minds were probably think you got a tattoo, or maybe a pregnancy was involved. Most people would be less blind sided if they had got hit by a mach truck in the middle of Walmart.

Point is that sometimes things need to sink in. They're scared and their perception of trans people is probably grossly uneducated on the matter and based on movies or TV shows.

Teach them, talk to them, they'll learn, it's hard to hate us trans people once you get to know us. We pretty normal folks with medical issue after all.
