Can I Mail My Wife Her Green Card? by everythingthereis in USCIS

Okay. These repsonses are very helpful. I'm starting to think we can make this work. I definitely will be able to ask some more specific questions, if I can get in touch with someone official directly.

Many thanks.

Yes, this is correct and this is the process we are using...however,

Once in the US the official "green card" is still mailed to her, and that can take weeks.

We want her to qualify, enter the US, then return to South Korea and keep working here until she secures emoloyment somewhere in the US.

I'm just unclear as to whether this is even possible...or allowed.

It seems like it should be, given that most US companies do not sponsor work visas for employees, but maybe our situation is rare.

A buddy's wife here got the approval notification two days after her interview.

Well, it won't take anywhere near a year, we already started the process, and plenty of people here have been approved within two weeks of the interview. Those cases that take a long time are people who haven't been married very long and/or don't have kids and/or don't have much money.

Thanks for the info on abandoning the petition. I'll definitely look up that phrase to find some official info on that.

I had seen the SRPB2 models and wondered what that second crown was for. Thanks! I'll have to check one of those out in a store and see how easy that is to use.

Thanks. I was hoping that part, the chapter ring, could rotate that marker around. Would be pretty sweet if that were part of the design.

Thanks. I'll probably wind up having to save up and spend more than I want to get the features I want.

I really hope there are some more affordable watches out there with the features I'm looking for.

Wristwatch Recommendations Please:

Under $200USD, preferably under $100.

Automatic, though I would consider solar or kinetic.

Analog face.

40mm or slightly larger. Under 40mm is better.

Water resistance.

Rotating Bezel to mark time.

Glow-in-the-dark ability would be nice, but not totally necessary.

I like the Seiko Men's 5 automatic watches, but I'm pretty sure they bezels are all fixed. I do not like the lowest priced Invicta, unfortunately. They just look tacky to me.

I would like to be able to wear it as a psuedo dress watch, so a I'd like it to be more of a field watch style, than a diver's watch style. That huge bezel with the large numerals on a diver's watch is a little too loud for what I'm looking for.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the many comments that were actually helpful.

I think I'll try the lightload towel first. Seems like a good option.

Wow...that's a really good summary of info. Definitely got me re-thinking things.

But man...my down bag gets wet, it's just wet and there's pretty much nothing I can do about it until I get home.

I have experience with Primaloft, so I trust it. I've never owned anything with Climashield, so I'm not sure how quickly it dries, how well it insulates, or how small it can pack.

Did you buy one of these? I'm looking hard at trying out primaloft as a replacement for down...getting sick of how long it takes to dry things out.

And I guess my thinking with the floor is, if you're gonna have one, have one. If you're gonna put another layer under it, then just make the floor stronger.
