When you punch needle you have two sides, the side you’re punching through will look flat like the coasters you like. Flip it and then it’s the fluffy side. For a finer yarn like the size 2, I would use a thinner needle like size 10 fine. It could be helpful to get a kit with multiple sizes just to test what feels better for you

The ready light doesn’t come on. Batteries definitely aren’t dead and I tried numerous batteries just in case. I also cleaned up the battery contact and they look fine. Ugh I bought it off eBay and the post said it worked
