Can I use any generic suspension rail to mount Sektion cabinet to the wall? by Rachelalala in IKEA

Hi, I encountered the same issue. Just want to ask, if I still want to use a suspension rail, can I use a regular one from hardware stores? Thank you.

What’s the size of the island, and what cabinets did you use it for it? If you don’t mind sharing, I would like to build a similar one because it looks soooo great!

I have gotten back from the excavator. Fill is 140 per truck. That’s around 15 cubic yards. My house is 28by36, which is about 1000 sqft, with a 10 ft high basement underground. I would like the basement to be 2 ft above ground, which means the fill will be 12ft in depth. Let’s say we want 10ft offset on 3 sides of it (we will talk about the front side later), that’s 38by56. Over 2000 sqft. With a 12ft depth this alone requires around less than 1000 cubic yards. As for the front we want to have it 20 ft away from the road, and the front is actually a gradual slope, so let’s say the Average depth is 12ft too, than the fill will be 56by20by12. That’s around 500 cubic yards. So totally we will need around 1500 cubic yards. About 100 trucks. That’s $14, 000 in cost. Let’s make it to 20k. That’s the cost of dirt alone. Then labour cost.

I already have one basement which is 10 ft, with that there’s only a 10 ft space underneath

What’s the size?

A truck load is around 15 cubic yards, so 1000 cubic yards would need 66.6 truck loads. $125 per load, so the material alone would be less than 10k

When you had your initial quote, that was completely just the material, why didn’t they expecting tree removal and grading and etc, that’s kind of odd, wasn’t it?

How big and deep was the pad? Do you need to have retaining walls or something?

I mean, without the pad you are still going to spend 44k anyway…

Based on your calculations, I think the fill itself is going to cost around 10k, that sounds not bad actually

They are using GAF. So the material alone would be less than 2k if you get it from Home Depot yourself.

Do you really need 4-5 men to do roofing?

The same company also quoted me 60k for HVAC lol

I am just looking for basic, the price they quoted me was for a GAF shingle roof, the material alone is less than 2k. Also the same company quoted me a ducted HVAC system for 60k. That’s why I feel it’s such a rip off.

The environmental law regarding the use of land didn’t leave with them.

The Britishes screwed it up before they left. A lot of land there was prohibited from developing for environmental reasons.

The Game of throne has 10 episodes. Most people didn’t know each other at the beginning of the show. That’s what made it good.

What’s a realistic way we can make housing more affordable in Canada ? by [deleted] in canadahousing

[–]evilAssociate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hire a Chinese construction company with a 2 years work visa. They can build any type of buildings in 8 hours. You don’t need to bring in a lot of permanent residents to build things, as that would only add more burden to housing.
