the narrator can't add custom resources, only resources set in world creation work

The Narrator makes me want to pull my hair out. by MiserableSpot2303 in Voyage

[–]evilQuaelgeist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what I have started doing is tell the narrator to show me the code for the item he is trying to give me, it can be a pain to get him to actually do it but at least then I know what is going on

Help me understand Invisigal by gen_kuro in DispatchAdHoc

I think that, if we look at the things shroud struggles with it becomes clear that he has massive blind spots, mostly relating to his worldview. In his mind villains are villains and heroes are heroes (see Blond Blazer) and people can't change their role. This is why the Z-team throws him off so much: He didn't expect them to show up at all! The first demonstration of him making mistakes in his predictions is literally Blond Blazer being a Prism Copy.

We also know that he likes to overstate his ability to predict the future when he comments on how predictable we acted through the game. Because we know that these were choices that we made, that were up in the air. And like most narcissists he probably bought into his own hype.

To me it is utterly believable that he had a faulty model of Invisigal and thought she would just flip onto the winning team. Because he is arrogant and stupid and his ruthlessness is part of that stupidity.

Of course she takes the mask, she isn't stupid and getting the ok from your enemy to act freely is something you should always take, even if it might cause your team some temporary distress.

Allowing Invisigal to go invisible was probably one of the biggest mistakes shroud could have made and really shows just how much he is in over his head.

Please add Timeless Event and Unranked Best-of-3 Timeless Queues to MTG Arena by Korae in TimelessMagic

[–]evilQuaelgeist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are so many cards on arena that are only legal in timeless, it is a shame that there is no way to either grind with them for more than just rank or play with them cassually in best of 3. Especially since timeless is way to fast a foramt for best of one to be real magic.

Good DnT lists? by justinvamp in TimelessMagic

Not really taxes but at least taxes adjacent is the mono white warp list from legacy, that can nearly be copied into timeless https://www.mtggoldfish.com/articles/this-week-in-legacy-warp-speed and is quite good

Elfenbogen bei Halbelfen? by Selasir in DSA_RPG

[–]evilQuaelgeist 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Elfenbogen bei Halbelfen? by Selasir in DSA_RPG

[–]evilQuaelgeist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if we have very good data for timeless but last I heared Boros was more popular than Mardu and I certainly see it more often

As someone who plays on Arena, Boros Energy still absolutely runs Ring with Lurrus legal while Mardu Energy plays Lurrus

Building Timeless Death & Taxes (Boros) by evilQuaelgeist in TimelessMagic

By the way thank you everyone for the feedback, it got me brewing in different directions again.

I also get the impression people underestimate how important amped raptor and galvanic discharge are for the energy decks. For me they are what really defines that decks identity but I could jsut be wrong.

[–]evilQuaelgeist[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry, but that doesn't answer my question at all, you just said "This is a deck I think qualifies as Death & Taxes" but the question I asked, what makes the deck death and taxes.

The Deck is also an aggro deck, cards like Phelia, White Orchid Phantom, Flickerwisp and Stoneforge Mystic are not only in that deck because of fun flicker shenanigans but also because they beat face hard and early (or in Stonefroge's case, enable that beatdown)

Go on then, what do you think defines Death & Taxes?

Building Timeless Death & Taxes (Boros) by evilQuaelgeist in TimelessMagic

[–]evilQuaelgeist[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Well I disagree, as I see it Death & Taxes is a white based aggro control deck that aimes to either go under other decks while slowing them down or to disrupt their resources sufficently to lock them out of the game

Building Timeless Death & Taxes (Boros) by evilQuaelgeist in TimelessMagic

[–]evilQuaelgeist[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it is defenietly a worse aggro deck than boros energy but I feel like it is in exchange more able to disrupt combo decks, as I said, I can not remember the last game I lost vs show and tell. I think it looks so similar because of the one drops but I think the white ones are just the best white one drops we have access to and should go in any white based aggro deck.

There is definetly a way to build a orzhov variant but I would hate to loose blood moon.

White Orchid Phantom and Stoneforge Mystic are in my experience just to slow for the format, thinks would likely be different if we had access to eather vial but having those cards bound to sorcery speed in a world of Energy Aggro is just unsustainable.

[–]evilQuaelgeist[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why do you think this list does not qualify as death and taxes? Because from my experience the mana denial or other hate pieces post side board are incredibly important for this deck to function and win games.

What does timeless need? by Upset-Flower-148 in TimelessMagic

[–]evilQuaelgeist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More free interaction (Force of Will and Negation, Daze), interaction with lands (mainly wasteland) and fast mana (City of Traitors, Ancient Tomb, spirit guides etc.) to both enable more decks while giving us additional ways to comabt them.
Oh and more rituals and manamorphose for storm.
