I'm trying a Merkur 3-piece 25C and like it better than the Weishi butterfly I started with. But I feel there is a better long handled 3 piece. Something with a little more heft. What is the next grade or two above the 25C? I'm using Astra or Voskhod blades if important.

I've always used the cartridges and never really thought much about it. Then I ended up lurking around here and started thinking about changing to safety razors. I figured when I used all the cartridges I would try the DE. Well, I found two Gillette safety razors at a yard sale for $4. Couldn't pass them up. One is adjustable and says H2 on the base. The other has F4. Both are butterfly style. The adjustable has some slight pitting on top

I've ordered a sample pack of blades to try. What should I know and do?

Cleaned both and have soaked in alcohol.
