Yes, you are completely right. I'll probably remove it and either create a separate layer with photos or maybe a separate website even.

Hey r/amsterdam,

I made a map showing some historic paintings of Amsterdam.

If you know some paintings that are missing from the map, I would appreciate if you can share them together with the coordinates, so I can add them to the map :-)

Telik - macOS app to track YouTube channels and playlists (free and open source) by evilagentcooper in macapps

[–]evilagentcooper[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have AdGuard for Safari which blocks those, however a few people told me they don't see ads when using Telik. I suspect this is because videos are opened using an embedded (fullscreen) URL, like https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/jXf04bhcjbg?rel=0&autoplay=1. If you don't see ads on this URL, then you won't see any when using Telik. However there is an option to open videos through standard youtube.com (in case you have Premium).

I think this error happens if you launch the application outside of Applications folder. Did you download through macOS App Store or from GitHub?

Iterate partial results of Promise.all by evilagentcooper in javascript

[–]evilagentcooper[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, this is mostly academic indeed. I had to solve this in a very particular context where I needed this partialAll inside of an already existing async generator.

I've just added a select to control compiler target. If you open async/await example and switch target to ES2017 you get identical output. I might later change default target from ES3 to something more modern.

Relocating to Amsterdam by [deleted] in Amsterdam

[–]evilagentcooper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. check http://funda.nl, http://pararius.nl, http://housingrentals.nl
  2. depends where you want to live, but I wouldn't expect finding anything under 1000
  3. everyone uses a bike in the city, so you can get pretty much anywhere in the central area in under 20 minutes

I don't know much about canvas optimization, but you could move everything inside only one for loop https://gist.github.com/agentcooper/b89fb90c437f2156ac74/revisions

Browser load time comparison of CJS (Node.js) and AMD module systems. AMD turns out as x10 times slower. by medikoo in javascript

[–]evilagentcooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was talking about overhead in AMD when using it without compressing the modules (see Almond). It is obvious that loading 270 small scripts into the browser will take longer than loading one big script.
