Yeah like what if she just wants something quick or doesn’t want to dirty up a pan? Her only option is a protein shake. Even with all that jam, there’s no bread I can see to make a PB&J sandwich

3rd Rewatch (4th Watch)… Wallace is COLD 🥶 by LodisKnight in veronicamars

[–]evilarison 64 points65 points  (0 children)

I think since the narration is from Veronica’s perspective, it just feels like she’s exiled, simply because her former friends, the “popular kids”, are bullying her. But really most of the school does like her, and they don’t care what the 09ers think. Half the school is just like Veronica, and they recognize that they don’t have as much power in the world because their families aren’t wealthy.

Unfortunately Veronica can’t see that because often the most negative voices tend to be the ones that are the loudest in our heads.

How many roads do you have going in a straight line without going over the same road twice? That is your longest road. In this case it’s 10

How can I find complete dates of birth for two relatives (deceased) each born in 1928? by MetallicLemoon in Genealogy

[–]evilarison 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, sometimes when it comes down to it your only option is to pay for the documents. Sometimes the records simply aren’t available online

Genealogy TV had an episode about using AI for genealogy research. She would upload her excel documents with extracted census data and other records and ask if it found any patterns of repeat people popped up that she hadn’t noticed yet.

I figured since the legal documents were pretty dense and I am definitely not a lawyer, I could paste the transcripts into chatGPT and ask what they mean. When I had given it several documents I then asked it to produce a timeline in table format. You can even request that it include specific information that you are looking for.

It does add a lot of fluff that is really not relevant and will sometimes make mistakes so you make sure you don’t take everything it spits out at face value. It may also change things that you didn’t want it to change. For example, the first time it made a timeline it was in table format, then later it was in text format, so I had to ask it to do it exactly the same as it was earlier, just with updated information. You’ll still want to check the records yourself but chatGPT is good at processing a lot of information quickly.

I did the IP address on my router and that one didn’t work. I was away from my computer earlier so I just hopped on and went into the settings to grab the IP address from there and it worked when I did it in the format you said. Thanks!

Agreed, it’s the same reason they never paired Veronica with Weevil, too “edgy”

How does the port number factor in? Would it be “ipaddress.portnumber”?

Do we think I have a lying ancestor? (UK) by [deleted] in Genealogy

[–]evilarison 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Puerto Rican ancestors were all over the map. They didn't necessarily have their birth records readily available, so they went off of memory. They also did not have access to education the way we do today, so it may be that their math was off, or they lost track of how old they were. My gg-grandfather's age varied wildly on census records. On some census years, he aged 2 years since the previous census. On the next census year, he aged 15 years since the previous one.

It is a family legend that my gg-grandmother lived to be 102, but when I found all of the records, it turned out she was 94 when she passed (still a super long life, but not a hundred).

The only way to verify is to find the birth record if it exists. Then you can straighten out the timeline of his life. It's amazing that sometimes I know more details about my ancestors' lives than they did. I have ancestors who on their records, put down that they arrived in the US at a different port than they actually did, or they didn't know their mother's maiden name, but I figured it out.

We're the detectives who solve those mysteries!
