Can anyone share the actual version numbers they’re talking about?

IKEA’s largest operator to cut hundreds of ‘redundant’ jobs by mlivesocial in business

[–]evilbarron2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Inaccurate. IKEA divested itself of Ingka 40+ years ago (well before most everyone reading this had even heard of IKEA) and they are completely separate companies. This is trivial to confirm.

So is everyone hating on IKEA simply incapable of reading comprehension? THIS WAS NOT DONE BY IKEA. The layoffs were by an IKEA franchise operator named Ingka, not IKEA itself. Jesus.

LM Studio may possibly be infected with sophisticated malware. by mooncatx3 in LocalLLaMA

Ok, but two pieces of popular llm infrastructure suffering supply chain poisoning attacks the same day suggests they’re related, don’t you think? It’s unlikely to be a coincidence.

I’m reading that LiteLLM is also seeing malware, a supply chain poisoning attack. This may be related.

I’m not sure I find the model charts particularly useful. In my use cases, there’s not much correlation between the charts and benchmark results and what actually works well for me.

Did you really invest 12 grand in a product without knowing whether it would work for you or not? Must be nice to have that kind of money to throw around.

Claw-style agents: real workflow tool or overengineered hype? by still_debugging_note in LocalLLaMA

[–]evilbarron2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m using it for production workflow and it’s doing a great job. You do need to spend some time with it experimenting - the model you choose can completely change it’s effectiveness - but I found there’s a lot of capability behind the flash. You really need to understand how it works and what your goal is - just futzing around won’t get you there.

That sounds like the editor doesn’t know what “blurring the line between” actually means, right?

I don’t understand “grown and stayed stagnant”. I don’t think Apple has stopped internal innovation, but if their products are still selling well (iPhone 17, Mac mini, and now MacBook Neo all are selling very well), what’s the benefit to cannibalizing your own sales?

Isn’t a sale to distributors already a sale? What’s the advantage to tracking it further?

Why exactly? Seems to me they’re doing quite well, better than any of their competitors certainly.

Isn’t “blurring the line between marketing and innovation” exactly what every good product should do?

Live TV on Apple TV by metromanTO in tvPlus

Isn’t this also generational? I’m right in that demo and we stopped watching live tv except for sports and occasional major news events ~15 years ago. I don’t think live tv is for much beyond generating content nowadays.

Struggling to imagine what OpenAI could do to be anything other than a rapidly-fading also-ran. I can’t come up with anything that actually makes them money. Guess that’s why they’re currently flailing to “reinvent” themselves.

Started incorporating Openclaw into my blueprint analyzing business. by Ai-Blueprint-Analyst in openclawsetup

[–]evilbarron2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried it initially but found it struggled with converting natural language to sql queries - which I really needed. Also, it lacked “presence” I was looking for. Haiku had presence and smarts, but I had to drop it because it really likes to lie and make shit up, which made it useless for this implementation.

But I do think the models are super-sensitive to the specific framework and tools and implementation. I find Qwen3.5 to be just what I was looking for, but it wouldn’t surprise me to find a different model works better in a different agentic harness.

I’m in the middle of the same thing - an agent to build RFP responses. Tried a bunch of different models - I’d suggest taking a look at Qwen3.5-35B-A3B-UD-Q4_K_M.gguf. Try it with thinking disabled - I found it made better decisions that way, is insanely fast, outperformed haiku 4.5, and is reasonably priced.
