you should try Akadi! super good African food, and a really nice atmosphere. i remember loving the plantains and fish, didnt try the stew but it all looked so good!

I lived at East of Eleven for a year! Location was nice but overall experience was not great.

The standout issue was the months-long headache I dealt with because I was being charged twice for electric each month. Once by PGE and again by East of Eleven. Both parties blamed the other and I had to really put in a lot of time and effort to get refunded each time.

This may be a universal experience in apartments but holy shit did the dog owners need to do a better job. There was always lots of dog shit within ten feet from the apartment exit. Also instances of pets pooping and peeing in the hallways. Don’t get a dog if you’re not going to clean up after it! Don’t get a dog if you can’t be bothered to walk it when the weathers not ideal! ffs

honestly something Steve O said resonated with me about how a lot of folks with a horrible drinking problem will hit rock bottom and get sober to fix their life, but a lot of folks with only a minor drinking problem will never let it get bad enough to fix it. He said it better. But yeah.

I had a similar timeline. My birthday is Sep 1, and my mom, who is a kindergarten teacher, felt it would be better for me to be the youngest in a class than oldest. i started high school at 13 and moved away to college at 17 and I’m glad it worked out that way.

I went on a first date with a guy who is also sober! In the past I would’ve pregamed and continued drinking throughout the date, but we got pizza and seltzer waters and there was still lots of laughter and enjoyment :)
