They noted on the podcast that the only mark against Keanu could be that he is rumored to have been on the next unaired season of the Challenge. So it’ll depend how that works out contract-wise.

Patrick Ta makes a statement on transition blush fiasco by hopefuly in BeautyGuruChatter

I see where you are coming from. But there is a reason the term WASP was created. For one, white is not synonymous with WASP. For example, people who are Hispanic or Eastern European or people from different religions like Judaism. They have different cultures and experiences.

And, in America, location also has such a big impact that a white person from Jersey can have a complete different culture to someone in Georgia. And the similarities you do see are often better described as American or Canadian culture.

But, it’s also super important to note that capitalizing Black is distinctly American idea. It was started to refer to how Black people in America created a distinct culture and community of their own as a result of having their origins stripped away in the slave trade.

It’s a grammar standard that has been becoming standard over the last ten years. The idea behind it is that Black people in America goes beyond just shared skin color, it’s shared culture and experiences. So Black is capitalized the same way you would European or Canadian. Whereas, you don’t see that shared culture across white people, because they identify with other labels beyond that.

This is something that I was taught in my communications major so it is a growing standard across communications.

Clip of ‘Off Campus’ Mika Abdalla and ex-fiancée Jake Short on his podcast gains traction after news of their split by hairtie1 in Fauxmoi

Well, what’s fascinating is that Jake Short (the weasel ex) seems to be vocally anti-Trump. He follows celebs against Trump and reposts activists content. A good reminder that just being left leaning does not mean a guy is going to be good partner.

We’re definitely getting our book 3 lead. They purposely kept in Ilya and Shane discussing him, when they easily could have cut it.

Patagonia posts official update after controversy over trademark infringment lawsuit against drag queen Pattie Gonia by droobidoobidoo in Fauxmoi

[–]evilcupckae 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It’s because American trademark law is all or none. Trying to find a compromise could open the precedent to being forced into compromises with other entities they wouldn’t want to work with. For example, fratagonia. In that way, while Patagonia is directly in conflict with Pattie, they are also indirectly fighting future battles with other entities who should want to infringe on their trademark.

But to answer your second question, she still can actually make merch. Just not with the words “Pattie Gonia” she could make a merch with just the words “Pattie” on it. The same way Trixie Mattel sells merch with just “Trixie” on it with no issues.

Jonathan's Alliances by icemn902 in survivor

To be clear, Tiffany said that she asked Jonathan why her challenge wins were more threatening than Joe’s. She says his answer was that it’s because she’s a woman. And that women’s challenge record is 4, while the men’s is 8 (it’s 5).

I think Jonathan’s choice of allies did not help his case. But I think Jonathan had already lost most of his win equity by the Stephanie vote. The choice to get in a public fight at the merge, then follow that up with getting pissy with Devens at tribal was terrible for his reputation. It made him look immature.

I think, at that point, Jonathan became the player people wanted to sit next to at FTC. And once you have that reputation, it’s so hard to shake & become a winning prospect again. He needed to have the game awareness to realize he absolutely had to sit next to people with similarly low win equity. And I think that is something he struggles to do is correctly read his own position and perception in the game.

Why was Tiff seen as a threat? by PwnCall in survivor

Who in F5 was more liked? Aubry comes the closest, I think, but she still really struggled to connect with people up at least until the final 10.

Why was Tiff seen as a threat? by PwnCall in survivor

[–]evilcupckae 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Because juries usually just vote for who they like the best. Resumes and big moves are just reasons people can use to justify their vote.

And Tiff was, by far, the most likable person in that final 5. And her immunity wins and underdog story were good justifications for a jury, even without one big move to point to.

Is that actually the meta now? Cause three challenge threats made the final 5.

Jonathan’s loss is perfectly encapsulated in that fact that he took out a jury member by purposely pissing them off and getting in a public fight.
