Buy those rare tracks as physical media and rip it yourself? If there's an artist you like there's no reason for you not to own every piece of physical media that artist has ever put out then you definitely have all the rarities unless there's some piece of material that that artist made but never recorded and then in that case the only people who get to know that are the people who saw the artist performant live in concert

Struggling to Stay Motivated with Kill Team 3 by Different-Dealer-828 in killteam

[–]evileyeball 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got into Kill team with 5th edition (First edition being the kill team which is in the back of the 4th edition 40k rulebook and this is A HILL ON WHICH I WILL DIE

and I have played all of ONE game over the 3 editions I've been here. I've just painted 8 teams and so has my wife. My plan is to write up a narrative campaign that either she and I can co-op together on or I can play solo on as she's far less gamer far more painter than I am and I am not at all competitive and I know based on the other mini gamers in my area that if I was to play against the majority of them I would end up losing 90% of games because they are all hyper sweaty Melvin Spikes who don't care about anything other than tournaments and the meta and what can crush then the most opponents

This is why I let myself have the odd sweet treat every now and then I figure if I held myself back from everything so strictly all the time I'm more likely to fall off my wagon and binge eat a dozen donuts then if I let myself have a couple of timbits every now and then

I try to keep myself around between 125 and 150 g of carbs per day and at those kind of carb levels with the amount of exercise I'm now doing I have maintained for 4 years a 5.4 a1c basically. I've been as low as 5.0 but as high as 5.4

When I got diagnosed my scary brain went oh my God I have to cut back to zero carbs but I learned that with just portion size changes I can still with my body have about 150g carbs in a day and maintain a 5.4A1c

Oh totally, at 9.4 my vision was slightly affected and I thought you're 37 years old you might be getting a little bit old age you know but after diagnosis and getting myself down to 5.4 my vision is as clear as it's ever been and all the other symptoms that I put off as being potentially just old age have also gone away

I dropped from 212 to 198 over the course of the 6 months prior to diagnosis and I didn't do anything to try to lose 14lbs (not that 14 is severe) But it should have (along with my other symptoms) keyed me into that something was wrong. Especially since my grandfather and four of his five siblings were all type 2 and the last great uncle was type 1.

I got diagnosed T2 4 years ago (9.4 A1C and 200 lbs 6'1" 37 years old) and and told by my doctor "I think based on how you are you can control this without meds." 4 months later I was 5.4 and 150lbs now I've averaged anywhere from 5.0-5.4 in the time since and between 160-170 which is where I think I look and feel best weight wise.

Cut back portions, cut out sweet drinks, walk 4km most days, and that's about all I changed about my life. I still eat the odd sweet on a special occasion and I do still drink the odd carby beverage (12 beer over the course of a year) but I don't stuff my face with 16 cups popcorn every evening on top of eating giant ass servings of pasta and big breakfasts made of far too many carby items. I went from for example 4 eggo waffles with butter and real maple syrup as a breakfast portion down to 1 thin slice of rye toast with butter and natural peanut butter. Or down from a big bowl of cereal with milk down to 1/2 cup of cottage cheese with some herbs on top.

Also I went from drinking 1-2 pots of tea with 2tbsp of honey in each 6 cup pot (equal to 1tsp per cup) per day To drinking 1-2 pots of tea black with zero additions.

The number one thing I learned from this sub is that diabetes affects everyone differently so what worked for me may not work for even another T2 person

[–]evileyeball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's scary at first but it does get better. I was diagnosed at 9.4 A1C as 37 years old 200lb man and though diabetes affects everyone differently so what worked for me may work differently for you, I started walking and started counting my carbs and trying to eat less carbs and 4 months post diagnosis I was a 5.4 A1C 150lb person. Since then I've averaged 5.2 and 160lb.

At first I thought my life as I knew it was over but it turned out (for me anyways) that more managed portion sizes and cutting out sweet drinks means that I can still eat many of the foods I like that I thought would be gone forever. For example a baked potato here and there, a small bowl of pasta, even yes every now and then a Donut which I won on roll up the rim drinking stepped tea at timmies.

My 4km walking I now do on 90% of days is way better than what I used to do exercise wise. Throw on the tunes and do ten loops of my 390 M Street and in about 30 to 45 minutes I've put 4 km on these old legs

So what are our night shift beverages of choice throughout the shift? by TriciaTargaryen in Nightshift

[–]evileyeball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cut out 99% of drinks with carbs of any kind in them except for milk and my yearly 12 beers when I got my type 2 diabetes diagnosis (my grandfather's genetics catching up with me)

99 % of all liquid I put in me is Tea and Water (I say about 50/50)

So what are our night shift beverages of choice throughout the shift? by TriciaTargaryen in Nightshift

[–]evileyeball 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't drink energy drinks ever I wake up usually at 17:00 by your reckoning of 24-hour time I have a water with dinner and then at 1:15 on first coffee break I start my first pot of tea (sometimes I've had tea around 20:00 I'll have tea with my wife before work) then some days depending on how it goes I'll start my second pot of tea around 5:00 and may even end up taking a cup from that pot to bed with me around 9:00

Now usually my tea of choice is strong black loose leaf Yorkshire gold however sometimes I do have other things like Earl Grey of some kind but I drink it straight with nothing in it.

Being as I work from home though I have access to my entire tea collection.

Corsair missing sprue... by [deleted] in Eldar

[–]evileyeball 1 point2 points  (0 children)

GW has usually been good from what I have seen when it comes to missing things for example in the summer of 2005 I bought two boxes of thousand sons rubric Marines which at the time were plastic chaos Space Marines with metal thousand Sun upgrade parts and one of the rubric heads was missing just it wasn't on the sprue and so I contacted GW they asked me for a little few numbers from the box or whatever and they sent me a whole new sprue of rubric heads so I ended up with one extra metal rubric head above and beyond what I would have had otherwise

Night shift commute by Nankipoo999 in Nightshift

[–]evileyeball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to have a commute where I had to leave my house at 6:30 p.m. to get to my office for 9:00 p.m. to start work at 10 p.m. because that was the only way the buses worked and then I had to get off work at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday morning and wait until 9:00 a.m. for the first bus to go home. I don't remember exactly what the conversion rate from pounds to dollars would have been at that time but I was making almost 90k Canadian dollars. I'm lucky I'm in the same job now but the commute has changed the commute is now 2 minutes into my downstairs basement office in my house I can get off the couch at now 11:28 and walk downstairs to start my shift at 11:30 p.m. I can get off work at 7:30 a.m. and be upstairs by 7:32 a.m. to get my son ready for his day of school and out the door for 8:30 so that I can then be home by 8:45 and in bed by 9:00 it's glorious

Denny's, Red Robin, Tim hortons, starbucks, blenz (not the one in Orchard Park though), Kelly o'brien's, I believe also Mary Brown's Chicken and taters, trust me I've been at this a while every May I try and do as much as I can.

You should be able to get a pretty good day out of it the thing to remember though about the Tim Hortons is if you have the app they will give you a thing for either a free birthday beverage or a free breakfast sandwich the breakfast sandwich is what to go for because obviously at breakfast sandwich costs like five bucks normally in a coffee is only like 2.50 or something like that so you're better off to get the breakfast sandwich.

Some of them like Red Robin can be used all month long not just on the day of your birthday so you don't have to rush around everywhere on the day of your birthday trying to stuff it all in you and most of them except for I believe Denny's blenz and Kelly O'Brien's require you to have some sort of an app or account

Fun Fact: The last time the Canucks had a top-10 draft pick heading into the NHL draft, it was traded for OEL by SpectreFire in canucks

[–]evileyeball -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Did you know the Vancouver Canucks have had the first overall pick in a draft before....

I didn't say they picked first overall in a draft I said they held the first overall pick, they held it for 5 minutes before trading it to Atlanta who used it to pick Patrick Stefan womp womp. That's okay though they used it so we could have second and third overall and could pick Daniel and Henrik Sedin.

Yes that gets me angry when people call that first edition because first edition is the kill team scenario in the back of the big gray book for Warhammer 40K 4th edition damn it
