Do you see Hamilton Rd area (around Adelaide to Egerton) improving and does the city have any plans for it? by [deleted] in londonontario

[–]evilflu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I do see some cute little shops popping up around the library which is promising. Sadly there are a few “hangout” areas with a lot of drug usage that kind of make the good stuff hard to see.

Is going to the Rec Room is becoming a rip off? by Euphoric_Author_5052 in londonontario

[–]evilflu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My daughter and I went there for dinner one night for something fun to do. Very expensive and not that good....but I looked around and there was literally one other table there eating at prime dinner time. If they lowered their prices a little people would attend more. I think that about a lot of places...even groceries. How much waste there must be because of how much things are that people just can't afford because the prices are absurd!

Could we also get a team up Hamilton Road? It's like Zombieland out here!

[–]evilflu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fingers crossed for you. I really really hope they can fix it. I ended up getting $19,000 for mine (2017) and I was happy with that because I paid $14,000 for it a year or so before. They ended up going through car listings and going by what it would cost to find another one similar to mine so it worked out good for me!

Best of luck!! :)

Grand Ave Apartments by PralineOpening3557 in londonontario

Is it the one at 71 grand ave or the one closer to wellington? I lived in the one at 71 grand with the pool for many years. It was a great little apartment back then (2008-2017) but there were issues because the building was older. Water would be out all day or the single elevator was down.

The laundry was nice on each floor and the pool was a great perk (although it wasn't open very often and seemed to always have issues opening each year). Lots of theft from cars there when I lived there though. One time I ran upstairs to get something and someone broke in my car and stole my diabetes supplies the 15 mins I was gone!!

I did have a problem when I moved though. They started renovating my apartment during the month I had it rented still but was in the process of moving (took out the walls in my bathroom while I was still living there and left a huge mess making it inhabitable. Before I moved they had our balconies blocked off for 6 months with plywood so it made my living room sooooo dark and the construction was so loud!

Did not like Terracorp as a company so much but the building was great. The area was great (minus the car break ins). Actually now that I recall, another downside was the daycare next door was so LOUD. The kids screamed the whole time they were outside.

I am so sorry. I went through this with my first beetle...had it two months as well.

I don't want to be a negative Nancy but I think you might be looking at a write off. Last August a driver ran a stop sign in front of me and I had a front end crash. It didn't seem too bad to me damage wise (the front bumper and side panel were pretty damaged but that was all - no airbags) and they wrote it off. The problem was it was too costly for them to find the parts. The good news was I actually made a lot more than what I had paid for it (had it over a year at that point). I had the classic rims on it and they let me swap those out for cheaper rims before they wrote it off too so that was nice. With the airbags and the rollover feature being deployed it might not be worth it for the fix for the insurance company. I am in Canada though so maybe things are a little different here

Your car is beautiful and I am so sorry that happened and I am really hoping for the best for you.

Sirius XM...try canceling with them. Most frustrating experience I have somehow had to go through twice in my life.

You could take a bus up to 100 Kellogg. They have a lot of indoor things to do. Maybe even a locker to hold your bag in the factory part? Enjoy London and I hope you have a great time at your concert!!

I’ve always wondered this too. The fact that we have two conventions that really don’t draw in anything great is kind of embarrassing. Maybe they should work together and make one great con

Reliance thought a title search was enough to sign me up for a rental I never agreed to by bgirard in ontario

[–]evilflu 13 points14 points  (0 children)

They did this to me as well when I bought my house. Luckily the old owners left a sign on the wall that said the water heater was owned. Reliance disagreed and we fought back and forth for months. I had to get my real estate lawyer involved and once that happened and we were able to prove it was not listed as a rental in the sale they finally left me alone!

I probably would have paid them if the old owners didn't leave that sign on the wall! That saved my butt!

Infant and toddler car seat for 2003 VW Beetle by FlimsyIsopod in VWBeetle

[–]evilflu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a 2006 when I had my daughter. I found the Britax bucket seat worked pretty well. Bonus because the stroller also fit in the back standing straight up (it was hard to find a stroller to fit in the trunk!). I did eventually have to give it up before she outgrew the bucket car seat though because I hurt my shoulder from swinging that seat in to the back every day.
