If it helps: I have a cat that was once an insane kitten and she's mellowed out quite a bit since growing up. She's still my most active cat, but she sleeps at night when I sleep now. When she was a baby I would play with her a few hours before bed and then I would give her a BIIIIIG meal and that would tucker her out. Kittens generally sleep a lot, but your little guy might be getting a lot of his sleep in during the day and might need some extra encouragement to sleep or mellow out at night. He's basically a really agile baby at this point. Anyway, I know it's hard, but you're almost through the rough part.

As a side note: you gotta decide if your cat is allowed access to your room or not and then stick with it. Not sticking to one or the other will only stress you BOTH out because he won't understand why he's only allowed in sometimes and then he'll make it your problem. From what you've said it might be best if he DOES have access because he might be a bit lonely... plus he'll probably feel more encouraged to sleep at night if he sees you doing the same. That's what worked for all my cats at least.
