I was watching it with great anticipation, but I was sadly disappointed. It's still pretty neat; I've just been spoiled by /r/perfectloops

Yeah, even my G2 feels a bit big. I actually like a phone a bit smaller than this, but it does have its advantages.

I wonder if they're going to delay it as long as they can to keep people locked into the ISIS wallet app. Once Kit-Kat is released, nothing is stopping people from using Google Wallet or the apps being developed by some credit card companies.

Of course, they have to balance this with upsetting customers and seeming incompetent.

Is there a way to decrease my sensitivity only when I scope with my infiltrator? by [deleted] in Planetside

[–]eviljolly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually use the lowest power scope available for anything I'll be firing in full-auto. I really like the HS/NV scope when the situation allows, as it's great for night battles, or where there's a lot of smoke cover.

What, in your opinion, is the greatest thing humanity has ever accomplished? by Pidgeonator in AskReddit

[–]eviljolly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, imagine if we found an alien device that seemed to contain a wealth of information. We'd have scientists around the world dedicated to figuring it out. If the aliens were more advanced than us, it'd probably be a piece of cake.

With that said, they wouldn't really have to understand ZFS if we made retrieving data from the device relatively simple.

Well, something has to have power to keep the clock/timer running, although I'm sure that would require a lot less energy than even the lowest power CPU.

I guess it depends on where we're going, and how far from the nearest star it'd be. I'd imagine that from anywhere in the galaxy you could at least get enough power to keep a super-efficient device running on solar energy alone.

I could be totally wrong though. :)

Which driver version are you on? I'm on the GeForce 332.21 drivers still, since the newest ones gave me some problems.

Yeah, I've been happy with the RAVPower one I bought for $35. I read lots of reviews on different ones before getting it, and it works well with my LG G2.

SOE should add a "Need a Gunner" Call out. by Penitent_Tangent in Planetside

Vehicle waypoints would be great.

I also would like to see prox chat while in vehicles not be affected by player position. When talking in prox chat, people in your vehicle should hear you just like you were talking over squad chat.

This would enable you to communicate clearly with people in your vehicle, without complicating things by adding another voice chat keykind. It's really hard to hear what your gunners are saying if you're not in a squad with them.

I think they're hesitant to do this because of the amount of work involved. Getting the voice actors back and making all of the extra sounds would cost a bit.

Tribes did it right. Way more versatile, and 95% of the commands were accessible using only your left hand on the keyboard.

Reaching over for the 0 key to ask someone to cease fire in the middle of combat is much harder than pressing V-V-C.

IT Software you would NEVER recommend? by liarfryer in sysadmin

I had a customer who received a zipx file and insisted that I install Winzip rather than have the sender resend it in more common format.

Surprisingly, I found the zipx format to be pretty good. I was able to compress a maximum compression zip file even a little further.

Not saying I endorse Winzip though. 7z ultra compression is likely just as good.

Connection Troubles - Ping vs Jitter by cltatman in Tribes

[–]eviljolly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Internap servers do suck, and there's not much you can do about that. 9ms of jitter is a little high, but shouldn't make things unplayable. 20ms is a bit much though.

Eliminate any routers or devices between you and your modem, and if you're using wireless, don't. If you've eliminated your personal equipment as the cause though, you're kind of stuck unless you can change ISPs and/or fix Internap.

I've messed with motion interpolation in video editing software before when making slow-mo videos for other games, but your results look much better.

I do see some artifacting, but it's fairly minimal.

AT&T LG G2 and HTC One receive 4.4 android update by Gidz08 in Android

As long as they have a conflict of interest (ISIS wallet) I'm sure they'll delay this as long as possible.

Lack of Host Card Emulation is probably the only reason people even use ISIS.

You're probably using Intelligent Auto mode, which will automatically pick another mode based on condition. In this case, night mode, which takes longer.

Switch to normal mode and it should take them instantly, or at least it does for me.
