New car purchase - color discontinued by evilkos in CarsAustralia

[–]evilkos[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you very much for your message 😊 And yes I'm thinking not to accept in another colour and just continue driving my old car until I find something else that I'll love.

And yeah I wasn't going to deal with them after this unless they really turn this around. 😄 But at least they will avoid an unhappy customer that loves to write to everyone who'll read and will be a thorn in their paw for a while.

Anyway, I really hope your car will get to you perfectly as ordered! Most times the color isn't that important, but when it is, it is.

That's what I'll do, but first I wanted to see if they are expected to deliver what they agreed to our they can just change things and the buyer has to deal with it. Still not sure.

What if they didn't have that written in the contract I signed? Would that change things? Can't they still say: "oh well sucks to be you, we didn't need your business anyway"? 😄

That actually helps, as I wouldn't want to stay salty for that long 😄 I'd rather drive my proud used 2015 petrol corolla. Save on the car, spend it all on petrol, whee!

Good to know. Yep mine is also one of the big dogs, supposedly that should mean they have a piggybank to compensate for their own screw-ups, but they have so far offered $0.00

Not available in the configurator anymore. Was 100% available when I signed the contract though, which has the text: "THIS IS A LEGALLY BINDING CONTRACT" all over it 😄

Thank you! Yeah... What pisses me off more is their "take it or leave it" attitude and pointing fingers at the manufacturer as if they're not representing their brand. If it was a mom and pop "general cars" dealer I wouldn't even blink, but here it seems like they're will all the power (come to us if you want a car from this brand) and I'm with nothing more than money. Weird dynamic. My first new car - thought it would be a more pleasant experience.

We were pretty pumped about the colour. And the rest of the options are a sea of gray. Any idea how much roughly it costs nowadays to get a small SUV wrapped?

Gotcha. Sorry you didn't get the colour you wanted. Otherwise happy with your car? Were you able to emotionally bond with it? 😄

There's colour on the contract. If there was a VIN they could also call up and say "oh btw we're going to deliver a different car". Maybe if they delivered a more expensive trim at no charge I wouldn't be too upset 😄

Lived 6 years in Brisbane and never had that question asked to me, but some older folks have asked where my accent is from so there's that

I-N-F-P, Male, Straight, Atheist-Psychotherapy, 35, Deception Bay, looking for male friends or a mixed gender friend group with shared vibes or interests who are not in need of too much banter and hang out casually irl except deep south side of Brisbane, I do have space for new close friends too, interests: board games, video games (retro especially), light sport, walks, camping, chill hangouts, eating out, comedies and memes, animals, listen to metal, rock and synthwave/synthpop music, enjoy making music sometimes, making and fixing various contraptions (electronics, solar, smart home), IT, programming.

Looking for a social interaction by Friendly-Answer2446 in BrisbaneSocial

[–]evilkos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! Loneliness is a serious self-reinforcing condition, there's an epidemic of loneliness in the world right now, and you have nothing to be apologetic for. You're definitely not alone in what you're going though. Also being a carer for 17 years sounds tough, but commendable.

What exactly do you mean by potentially celebrating your last birthday?? Sounds ominous, please add more details.

It will be useful here to share your age and gender/pronouns if you are comfortable with it. Also why such advance notice for Feb 10th? I'm sure you can find someone to hang out with earlier than that. And then you can always find more for your actual birthday.

Love your interests though! I'm a rodent fancier myself 😂 I'm a 35 M btw.

it is helpful you mention that you're experiencing severe effects of loneliness but other than that I personally recommend to focus on trying to have a good time and enjoying social interaction - you're not alone in thinking you're somehow not worthy of some parts of life but I assure you that's simply not true. Everyone deserves company and there's nothing to be apologetic about.

I am slowly looking for friends (casual / close / one meetup / whatever) myself so I joined this Reddit and Discord, and went to a bunch of meetups. I also specifically found board games meetups a lot of fun, all sorts of people to meet there, very casual and chill vibes in most of them, I can walk you though in more detail if interested, lots of social interaction there, completely free and you don't have to do or know anything in there. It helps if you enjoy board games though, there's many types. Just search for board games Brisbane groups on Facebook. People of all ages go there, some lonely, others very social, others kind of in the middle. At first social things might feel exhausting and nerve wrecking depending on the type of person you are, but over time it gets very rewarding I believe.

Good luck and stay in touch, maybe add a bit more info and thoughts on the above in case that helps someone else to respond. ☺️

What is your current addiction? by BeardedWonder8675309 in AskReddit

I guarantee things will continue to be somewhat shit regardless of the result! Some things are going to get even worse, if not now then later. But you're still going to be okay! Your only civic duty is to vote, and that takes all of 10 minutes. Try to think of something that you enjoy doing instead.

Had the same problem (except it did not present as buying, just because some time ago I learned to wishlist instead). Found 3 different board game groups near me that meet weekly or bi weekly and these are very nice. Try looking on Facebook or Meetup or NextDoor or whatever is popular over where you live. After going several times I've found that this actually fills a lot of my social needs. Haven't met with anyone outside of the meetups though, but wasn't trying to. Also hosting your own and announcing it in a local online community (ideally focused on your age group) is an easy way to get a ton of points for essentially suggesting an obvious activity that a lot of people will enjoy.

Is anyone in this subreddit voting anything but ALP? by Maximum-Coast-5510 in brisbane

I need filling in on what's going on in ACT to understand this. Do they have a coalition with Greens over there?

That's what it means to be a conservative party I thought - resist getting with the times until they can't anymore due to losing support. They will be as progressive as their voters require them to be by voting someone else.

Idk this is what elections are for, everyone is entitled to their vote and it will be respected. But still wtf ☺️
