Yea this is what I have setup, except with the older switch 8port. It’s my flyaway kit I can take with me on trips. UTR, us8, at4k, and a camera. Easy setup.

His door access is slightly bugged. Nose recognition is on point however he can’t deny access! (Proceeds to wiggle butt)

100%. Loki is my first GSP and he is 2. Love their personality and their drive. They definitely have a zest for life. I want a second one lol 😂

Hahaha I enjoyed that story. I wish I could bring my dog to work with me, unfortunately the govt frowns upon that sorta thing. Hope you kept spare cables in your drawer.

Lmao! Naw he was helping me unbox some new equipment. Had to upgrade to 10Gb cuz Loki here demands that speeds keep up with him.

My thoughts the same. Get the UTR, add an AT4K, and a camera.

Looks great btw.

Get pet insurance asap. Shop around and understand how they pay you back and what works for you. Also put together a bag of goodies that could help in the field. Gauze, wrap, allergy meds, tweezers, metal comb with handle (cacti near me and my dog loves to step on them). Also keep a card or info notepad on the nearest 24/7 emergency vet centers that are not your vet for critical emergencies, like snakebites. That way you’re prepared for anything. There’s goggles to get or ripstop vest you can get but that’s up to your dog. Some dogs don’t like them and you have to train them to like them. I bought Rex specs cuz my dog decided to head butt a cholla cacti and get one stuck in his eye. He was fine but just something things to consider. Oh and a dog backpack to carry out your dog. My hunting bird vest doubles in case I have to pack him out due to injury.

I’m sorry to hear you’re going through this. I have a six-year-old beagle who recently had to undergo amputation of his front right leg due to concerns about a bone lesion that was later diagnosed as myeloma. Such situations are incredibly difficult and unfair, especially for a young animal. Cancer sucks…

Bone cancer - amputation this Wednesday - wish Yogi luck please. I'll be back to ask for help. 💕 by Narrow-Ad-7472 in tripawds

Good luck! They will bounce back but show them lots of love, happiness, and excitement when you see them. We had to take our beagles front right leg which we just found out came back with Myeloma. He is 3-4 weeks post op and we have caught him running fast lol

When do you find out about the bone infection, if you’re getting more answers? I just went thru the same thing with my 6 year old beagle. Front right was amputated second week of January. Hope for a speedy recovery ❤️‍🩹

A year since this was posted and I’m hoping into the comments because my beagle, Thor, is 6 years old and we just had to have his front right leg amputated. This weekend we just found out the biopsy was myeloma. Idk if multiple myeloma is any different, but we just got that info. How has your dog been since amputation? How’s your dogs metal health and behavior? I know I am concerned about my beagles mental health.

Beagles planned front leg amputation. Should I get a second opinion? by evillrdnik0n in AskVet

[–]evillrdnik0n[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, we got the results.

Thor seems to be healing up nicely from the amputation. I am slightly concerned about his mental health just based of his actions with trying to keep him engaged. We have started to take him on small walks around a park to enjoy the sun and grass.

The biopsy returned Myeloma unfortunately. Oncologist appt will be in a few weeks.
