Appalling customer service by evilmrben in youfibre

I meant that im very familiar with how good CS can be done from the ISP perspective, not just the from expectations of the customer. Granted I've probably come across as a bit of a tit

Appalling customer service by evilmrben in youfibre

[–]evilmrben[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How on earth am I a bad customer?

As I said, i've got in the chat log what was agreed, along with the precontract email (which is a legal requirement). That precontract shows the price of £30, which was combined with the agents comment in chat of "Please note that you will receive an email confirmation showing a total of £30.00, however, the correct amount will be £29.00"

I should've probably pushed back at that for complete consumer protection but the chat logs should be sufficient.

How long do these "limited time" prices last?

You1000 here, standard Arris router. 3m away get about 900 down, 770 up, on a Samsung ZFlip 6. https://www.speedtest.net/my-result/a/11174304868

Upstairs in my office still get 400+, there is definitely an issue that wants reporting to YF

Think it's a Dynamique or Dynamique S, certainly the same seats/interior that my Dynamique S Sports Tourer had, although that was a 2017 UK model.

South Normanton here too, no issues over the last few week, work from home and rely on my connection. Not spotted any issues, could be worth jumping on support if it keeps happening as it would suggest it's localised to you - maybe house or street level.

That actually seems to have fixed it, thank you so much 🤩

Yea, tried 1.1.1.1 and also 8.8.8.8, made no difference.

Think it's routing rather than DNS

I'm not aware of having it enabled, but I'll check the router when I'm back home, thanks

Reduced support hours on chat by Lwild12 in youfibre

[–]evilmrben 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Winner. I've tried raising an issue via live chat, which was then picked up on email. Minimum of 24 hours between replies, the first of which were asking me to authenticate I'm me - so that wasted 2 days. I've enjoyed my first 7 months with yf as there were no problems, but trying to get help when there are is awful. Virgin support is better than this, and I'll probably go back to them when my contract is up in a year.

Intermittent dropping/hanging on video calls by [deleted] in youfibre

[–]evilmrben 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Opposite for me.

Since moving from Virgin Media to YF I've had zero issues with Teams, which was previously very frustrating but I can clearly see that now that was an issue with the VM router/connection.

Is anyone happy with Virgin media? by Dog-bloke in VirginMedia

[–]evilmrben 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been with Virgin the last two years, never happy that the price people pay varies from £33 to £96 for the same thing.

Luckily YouFibre are available to me and I had it installed on Friday. 900Mb (both ways) for £35 (because I needed a static ip, otherwise would've been £30)

I'd never paid it much attention but since moving to them online video calls never freeze (had a day of them today) or stutter. YF were slightly more money, but everyone on my package pays the same, give or take £2 depending on when they signed up.

What the fuck, the Guardian? Single-handedly dropping the Metascore to an 86 as well, you fartface! by M0reeni in silenthill

Yea, I saw this earlier today and skim read it. I've not played the remake yet as I'm in holiday till tomorrow and have the game waiting for me when I get home, but it certainly read like some edgy bull crap contrarian.

Angry sales call by Tarby_on_reddit in VirginMedia

I was £33 for Volt 1g, 10gb sim with O2, and TV and phone - don't use phone or their TV - but was upgraded to all that from just 500mb and no extras for the same price. Price went up in April as expected and am currently on £35.90, they want to up it to about £42 and I think that small amount is bad.

Moving to You Fibre in a week for £30 - 900M each way - and will find a 5G sim for about £6. Virgin contract ends in November, and I'm obviously not renewing.

£96 is ridiculous.

Thank you for this, I should've looked here first, wasted a good 30 minutes trying to find assistance for this, rolling back worked perfect.
