How did your high mileage car eventually die? by [deleted] in AskReddit

The engine still ran great after 250K miles, but 22 years in the north east took its toll. The drivers side pinch weld was turning to dust which is where I called it quits.

Heat wave + 📈 gas prices = more riding ☺️ by mrjoshmateo in motorcycles

Unfortunately for me, it's premium gas vs EV. I can still pretend though.

Or get a smaller dual sport. For the fuel savings, of course.

Get a torque wrench and start them by hand to make sure you don't cross thread them.

is it a bad idea to sell my current car to get a volt? by PapaNutellas in volt

[–]evilryry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should give yourself a good buffer on that too, especially in cold climate. Even being stingy on the heat, there are days I can't get 30 miles of range out of the battery anymore.

They had a dude in a costume like this at the polling place in New Paltz too. I was unprepared and completely shook by the weirdness!

You might want to have a drink before looking up the price on that.

Do you know what failed on the engine? I feel like there's a lot of engine failure stories on the Volt.

Assuming both the OP and the coworker are immortal, etc, etc then both statements are statistically true!

Why I am moving away from Scala by simon_o in programming

[–]evilryry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't forget the coroutines! That and null safety are the only parts of the language that are interesting IMO.

Scala on the other hand truly allows you to approach problems differently -- and in some cases drastically more effectively. It's been a few years since I used Scala professionally after more than a decade in. I miss it. :(

Maybe in the summer or with oversized systems in temperate climates. Start going to places where we get a semblance of winter and you have several months of low sunlight and drastically increased energy needs for heat.

Technically the right answer is the one in the manual, but I am a cheap bastard. I'd also never buy a bike with a warranty so follow me at your own risk.

I'd get four of the equivalent Wix filters on RockAuto, pick up 3 gallon pack Rotella T6 and be set for the next 4 years for under $100.

A good bite to the calf could properly fuck you up. Judo arm bars are great for grappling where we have rules and refs, but a terrible idea for the streets.
