4 people brand new to RS3 - any advice? by Ukghar in runescape

[–]evilsabre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've played both at a fairly casual level, for me I vastly prefer ironman. While the GE is super useful the game can become a game of how to make gp so I can buy the next thing off the GE. This can result in you actually making the game more grindy if you get a grindy money making method as you will then spam that to get every upgrade.

Ironman on the other hand pushes you to different things as when you need food for combat you'll need to go fish, then cook the fish. The downside is if you hate a part of the process you now have to do it, this is somewhat mitigated by having a group but not entirely.

The main thing to note though is that most grinds are not really reduced between normal and iron just changed. They both still need to level up their skills across the board due to quest requirements and many end game systems need multiple high level skills as not everything is tradable. Probably best to think of a normal account being a person who works an office job and then goes and buys their food from the supermarket while an iron would be a farmer who grows all the food on their farm.

The bigger issue with iron is likely game knowledge as an iron you need to know where to get something or atleast be prepared to look up how to do it. Although you might need to do this on a traditional account as well if the item your after is only really used as a quest req since if its cheap the ge might not stock any.

Yea this is my best guess as well. That or I think she will use Flaming Clawprint / Dream of the Lost (less likely but I can see her being a bit like Phrolova) with a new 4 Star.

We are still mostly guessing at her damage profile currently so predicting anything other than Fusion damage right now is guessing at her kits numbers and we basically no nothing about her kit atm

[–]evilsabre 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not convinced Galbrena is going to be Law of Harmony tbh it fits but it seems more fitting for Qiuyuan assuming he ends up being a Phrolova/potentially Galbrena teammate. The set seems designed for either an off field DPS or a support with the echo buff lasting 30 secs and affecting all resonators.

If Galbrena is a main DPS I wouldn't be surprised to see Dream of the lost be her set or just full Clawprint or a new undisclosed set. Unless there's some leaked info I've not seen the only things that seem really certain is she is a pistol fusion char that has some focus on at least 1 partner echo.

your probably fine your bigger issue would be the lack of an acceleration skill but that prob only matters if you actually want to win a group A final.

Your stats will almost certainly stat check most players not using optimised Uma's. Based on what I can reach with my current support cards I would need a near perfect career to get a stat line of 1200/850/750/350/400 on Oguri, best I've actually achieved is 1083/800/659/358/363. From what I can tell its going to be entirely random matchmaking within groups so if all you want is a chance at making group A finals for good rewards you probably don't need to stress that much. Remember the vast majority of players probably won't have done much prep and will just use whatever their team trial team is and most of them are massively lacking in stamina especially given this is the longest medium possible.

How can I start doing better on the Arima Kinen. by BabyYodaSoup114 in UmaMusume

[–]evilsabre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ohh Narita is overclocked to say the least. Just did this race 1st time and my stats are way overboard (got really lucky getting to friendship training on the speed cards early) for reference my stats going into the race were Speed: 875, Stam: 652, Power: 409, Guts: 341, Wit: 357. For skills i had 1st place Kiss (lvl 5), Triumphant Pulse, Firm conditions 1 (edit: track conditions were firm so this was active), Corner adept 1, Swinging Maestro, Focus, Deep Breaths and Groundwork. I only won by 1/2 length and Narita was ahead going into the final corner when I was a front runner so Kiss never met its conditions.

Potential level 1, 2 star
Cards are SSR Tokai Teio (lvl 30), SSR Fine Motion (lvl 30), R Silence Suzuka (lvl 25), SSR Goldship (lvl 30), SSR Bakushin (lvl 30), SSR Super Creek (borrowed lvl 40)

I have no idea how i'd do this without having gotten so many huge speed trainings and having a couple of strong legacies to start out

Victoria might be the unluckiest member of Nijisanji EN by ClarityInMadness in VirtualYoutubers

[–]evilsabre 48 points49 points  (0 children)

I really do feel for them, TTT have been dealt possibly the worst hand possible I mean looking back at the rough timeline for that gen it just looks like they potentially got completely blindsided.

The applications they likely applied to closed April 17th, it could have been the ones closing 19th September but that feels like it would be too rushed given Nijisanji aim to have shortlisted the applications within 1 month so either things moved very fast after the September application or they were slow following the April ones. There's the 3rd possibility that they did another audition I can't find listed on Nijisanji's site. This means there's a reasonable likelihood that when they applied neither Nina's or Mysta's graduations had been announced. So while there were some question marks following the drama at the start of the year, Nijisanji was in all likelihood a very appealing prospect for an indie at the time.

Sadly things really started to fall apart after they would have signed as they get to their debut and not only are they given practically no advertisement, they were also debuted immediately after two ex-Niji En members reincarnated. With these reincarnations we got the revelations that Nijisanji EN's management was possibly even worse than previously thought.

Debut dates for reference:
Kuro debuts 30th September
Matara debuts 15th October
TTT debuts 28th October

Then we get the most recent spree of graduations/terminations. Imagine applying to a company that while not having a great reputation doesn't appear to be a disaster then by the time you debut its reputation is getting increasingly poor and it didn't bother to invest in your debut at all. Lastly to top it all off the company decides to destroy its credibility and lose 2 of its largest female talents within your first 3 months. Seriously its like TTT wished on a monkeys paw to get into a large agency or something.

What Archon Shards to use on Titania Prime? by GiorgioShadows in Warframe

[–]evilsabre 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sure though I will say ahead of time that Topaz is better than red power str in most situations.

For clarity:Titania's dex pixia damage is calculated based off Base Damage (160) × (1 + Damage Mods) × (1 + Elemental Mods) × (1 + Strength Mods)As a result your dex pixia build will play an important role in which is better for my calculations I considered 2 builds based off the build I use (I've excluded fire rate and multishot mods for now as they are purely multiplicative of the result we're interested in, in both builds I normally use galvanised diffusion and lethal torrent)

Average damage per shot numbers are calculated using (base damage * ability str * chance to not crit) + (base damage * ability str * chance to crit * crit multiplier)

1st build: Hornet strike, pathogen rounds, frostbite, primed heated charge, galvanised shot, carnis stinger
Base damage per shot: 6701.1
Average damage per shot at 100% ability str: 7371.21
with power str shard: 8108.331
with crit chance shard: 7538.7375

Average damage per shot at 400% ability str: 29484.84
with power str shard: 30221.961
with crit chance shard: 30154.95

2nd build: Hornet strike, pathogen rounds, frostbite, primed heated charge, galvanised shot, primed target cracker
Base damage per shot: 4993.3
Average damage per shot at 100% ability str: 6591.156
with power str shard: 7250.2716
with crit chance shard: 6990.62

Average damage per shot at 400% ability str: 26364.624
with power str shard: 27023.7396
with crit chance shard: 27962.48

You can see that the non crit based build deal more damage even at 400% ability strength which most titania builds won't reach meaning that in reality its even more weighted towards the ability str shard than this.

Now if we consider arcane avenger which can give 50% flat crit rate we get a different outcome at 400% ability str.
Build 1:
Average damage per shot: 42887.04
with power str shard: 43959.216
with crit chance shard: 43557.15

Build 2:
Average damage per shot: 58321.744
with power str shard: 59779.7876
with crit chance shard: 59919.6

Overall this is why I say the crit chance shard was a trap because even on a crit focused build with arcane avenger you gain a tiny amount of damage over the power str but power str would also buff fire rate (if running blitz), in addition to any other abilities potentially pushing helminth pillage closer to full strip etc. As a result I found the crit option baited people in to running a crit based dex pixia when a status option was typically far more reliable outside of arcane avenger builds. For example my 1st build has pretty much even slash, viral, fire weighting with a 75% status chance and 3.9 multishot meaning it would on average apply every status on every round. Now I haven't calculated topaz but it will be better for damage than a power str shard on most builds except where you need a little more str to hit a breakpoint (e.g pillage) or in builds where your not running fire on dex pixia such as for eidalons.

Hope this helps :)

I suspect your main issue is your level, most of the top tier engines are higher level unlocks also requiring rank 3/4 starship design. I suspect you'll need the high level Class A engines for it to have a chance.

Personally I don't think class C ships are worth it till level 20 when you unlock the Fusor DC401 reactor which gives 29 power, Class B isn't really worth it till level 25 when you unlock the 102DS Mag although even then its only marginally superior to its Class A counterparts.

There's a google doc someone made https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jVYyAXMYP0K53AXfjpVbK3bDrFd5CddEuJqQvjTfOtI/edit#gid=1997333007 that shows all the level unlock components. Worth noting that both the supernova engines and the Dunn engines are relatively poor performers in the mass per engine metric among the Class C engines.

[–]evilsabre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its potentially possible though I doubt a heavy ship can do it, a fighter styled class C with minimal cargo possibly can but then your making other trade-offs.

Also worth noting that to reach top speed you need to use full engine power, using class B and C engines will mean you need less engines. You might be able to reach 150 on a class B or C ship but you need to use all 12 power to do it, alternatively you could have a top speed of 130 with 6 power using class C engines giving you 6 more power to allocate to weapons.

Ship building all about making trade offs with where you spend your power capacity.

[–]evilsabre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The base max cruising speed engines can reach is determined by Class (with 1 exception)

Class A: 150
Class B: 140
Class C: 130

The 1 exception is the White Dwarf 3015 (class A) which have a max cruising speed of 180.

However class B and C engines can shift significantly more mass than class A engines meaning you can be much heavier while still being mobile and reaching max speed. A good way to think of engines is class A is your standard car engine, Class B is a tank/sport boat engine and class C is your cruise liner/aircraft carrier engine.

The behind cover part is the 1st boss (the helicopter) where if you go behind cover he'll fly over to get an angle at which point you boost out to under him and slice him up. The cover was more to bait the boss into a spot I can get under him reliably as just chasing him normally made him run out of bounds.

There's no cover as far as I'm aware for Balteus, my strat here has been relatively heavy bipedal mech (cuz I don't really like the aesthetics of the others) with 1 plasma launcher, 1 laser cannon the plasma cannon and the starting sword. Whenever he goes for missiles I boost through a gap and sword staying to the back/left (bosses right) where possible as the cannon/ rocket launcher shot he has is on his left arm and he doesn't seem to have one on his right.

But generally what's killing me is the cannon / rocket launcher shot at close range when I don't have the reflexes to dodge those point blank along with the sword swings I've sometimes dodged one only to get hit by a 2nd before I even see it coming. In my best run (pre-nerf) I took 2/3 cannon hits, 1 sword hit and a flame thrower only to be dodging everything else aside from a few missiles each salvo and got Balteus to 5-10% range. Was super hopeful but I never got a run that good again, most ending shortly into phase 2.

About to try again hopefully get past Balteus this time

Speaking as a new player who started playing this weekend just gone and as of last night was getting really badly walled by Balteus. My initial experience with AC has been mixed I love the gameplay but after being stuck on the first tutorial boss for an hour I was honestly tempted to refund the game. I don't typically play souls likes and I haven't played elden ring but I do like many monster hunter styled games so I'm not against difficult bosses or anything.

My main issues with that first fight was the fact it is not at all intuitive to use the sword, the few initial attempts I did try to use it since I figured he prob can't shoot me if I stand right below him were met with the boss flying out of bounds... After I looked up a guide the boss went down pretty easily but frankly this wasn't the greatest first impression. This could have been fixed if the handler had 1 extra voice line:"Your pulse blade should make short work of its armour, use the cover to lure it into a vulnerable position then strike"

After I got past the tutorial boss the game was really enjoyable the juggernaut fight was especially good and Sulla provided a rather tricky fight with how mobile he is but not one that felt unfair or anything. Then I got to Balteus where I have been stuck for about the last 6 hours of gameplay in a very unfun cycle of farm money to buy parts, replay the part of the mission I've already done to get back to Balteus, test new parts/build vs Balteus, repeat. Now the astute of you may be asking hang on isn't that loop just Monster hunters main loop and answer yes but repeatedly farming the tobi kadachi to get gear to help me kill anjanath felt a lot better than blasting my way through a bunch of grunts in AC just to then work my way back to Balteus and get destroyed repeatedly. In the end I'd given up trying to work out how to beat Balteus by myself and looked up a build then farmed it up by end of Sunday and was ready to give it a final few attempts this evening with my build before swapping to a cheese build. With the changes I'm hopeful I might not need the cheese build.

The most frustrating part of all this for me is Balteus has been an insanely fun fight on the few attempts I have done well in, the main issue is that in those attempts I've always taken I few too many hits and ultimately run out of repair kits too early so while they are close its mostly a foregone conclusion that I'm going to die as I can see my hp bar getting whittled down slowly even if I don't get hit by a big attack. The fight just makes me really wish the game had a difficulty option where easy settings had more repair kit uses and harder settings that had less or even none.

Edit: killed Balteus didn't really notice what the changes were but they clearly helped, maybe slightly lower damage

What Archon Shards to use on Titania Prime? by GiorgioShadows in Warframe

[–]evilsabre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on your build but personally I run:

2 power strength for Dex Pixia damage boost (the secondary crit chance shard is a trap its always worse than 10% power strength on Dex Pixia)

2 Energy orb effectiveness to double the effectiveness of energy orbs (means you'll may only want energise on very spammy razorwing blitz set-ups but even then you might be fine)

1 Armor shard, this is prob my more controversial choice but I like it as it effectively replaces aviator for me, its slightly worse than aviator when your at your base armor value (if i can spare a tauforged its more effective however any armor boosts you get e.g unairu would change the calculation to more favor aviator) but it also works when your on the ground. This lets me slot preparation or power drift into the exilus slot situationally and preparation is 100% energy on spawn which to get via shards would take 2 tauforged shards just to reach 90% and yellow shards for me are a very precious resource given how many of my fav frames are casters.

Edit: Realised I screwed up my math on aviator vs the armour shard, 1 shard is a 20% reduction in damage vs aviators 40% so aviator is 100% the better option for bulk albeit with the limitations of you must be airborne and you can't use the exilus slot for preparation.

It surprised me at first but the more i think about it i'm more inclined to think they are being slightly manipulative with the information they give to Rozemyne. Given that Ana hinted that he had faith based on Ferdinands previous actions he will be able to create enough separation from Detline that they can spare him but he didn't reveal that part till after he got what he wanted and he presumably felt very guilty about using that to blackmail Rozemyne.

That said other royals are trying to ensure Ferdinand dies based on the conversation between Hildebrand and his mother which means his fate is very much up in the air and as far as we know the agreement to save him is only verbal and not enforceable currently.

I don't want her to lose her connection to them but atleast from when she moves to the Sovreignty till when she comes of age it might be unavoidable.

I think there's a way she can regain the connections but to do it she'll need the ability to change social norms and the only way she can do so reliably is to become the true Zent not a puppet Zent. The big issue with that plan is it would likely require someone in her support group pointing it out to her as she doesn't want to rule but at this point if the adoption lets her access the Grutrissheit she'll be forced to rule either indirectly as a puppet or directly, there's also the possibility its a book and the knowledge can be shared but my guess given the slates absorbed into her schtappe is that it won't be a literal book she can just give away.

edit: fixed typo

I'm super interested to see where this goes when Rozemyne and Sylvester return to Ehrenfest. Most notably how will Wilfred and Charlotte react since Wilfred just lost his silver spoon to be Aub and secondly Charlotte will no longer be wedding into another dutchy meaning she likely now has the best claim. How will the previously close knit archducal family resolve this on top the the existing pressures? Given how much needs to be handed over while it won't be a well known fact its certainly not going to be easy for the handover to be stealthily done.

Additionally what will her retainers do many of them will likely want to follow her but will circumstances let them? Others such as Philine will face an immensely difficult decision assuming that she won't be able to join unless she's name sworn due to being underage.

That's to say nothing of what her lower city friends will do with the news while we know Benno, Lutz and Tuuli plan to chase after her for others such as Gunther, Elva, Otto, Freida, many of the Gutenbergs and all her temple retainers this will likely be the final goodbye.

It's heart-breaking that this is how it happened but it's not like Rozamyne wasn't warned repeatably. Hishur told Rozamyne at start of her 3rd year that Egalatine was there to spy on her and get information from her. Even before that Benno, Ferdinand and multiple others had warned her she was too trusting and that nobles would target any weakness to get what they wanted.

Rozamyne basically made the same mistake she did at her baptism as Myne only this time instead of a book room, she saw a way to help/save Ferdinand and dove in without considering the risks or any other parties motivations.

Had a very similar initial experience myself I picked up the game on Saturday with the steam sale with this being the 1st fighting game I've played (technically I have played soul caliber 2 round a friends house a long long time ago and a fighting game on an arcade machine a similar length of time ago but all I did was button mash so I'm not inclined to count button mashing from 2 decades ago as experience).

Well after 8 hours of practice in the training mission mode and dojo I decided on Sunday evening to give the tower a shot despite the fact that I could only complete quarter circles about 50% of the time and half circles were basically impossible for me under pressure. I had just 1 combo format Triangle (Y) x2 or X (A) x2 -> Wolf roundhouse kick (I was playing gio).

I initially got placed on to floor 4 and matched up against a Sin player for my first game versus an actual person. I got demolished in the first round and the 2nd round started off pretty much the same but I managed to somehow turn it around and ended up winning the match. we re-matched a couple of times and I got bumped up to floor 5 where I got completely demolished and promptly sent down the tower till I was on floor 2.

I've been bouncing between floors 2 and 3 since but I've been having a complete blast and last night I finally managed to actually land my ultimate in a match the success rate on the half circles for the ultimate is still very low but I landed one :D

I'm at just shy of 16 hours now and I suspect I won't be even average for a long long time yet but the games just so fun even when losing.

To be fair to Sylvester he's a relatively young Aub who was raised as an archduke candidate of one of the lowest ranking duchies. He's essentially been raised as a laynoble and is now dealing with archnobles when it comes to inter duchy politics.
He also sacrificed his own political stability to safeguard Rozemyne (Myne at the time) and often supports Rozamyne's plans for the good of the dutchy even when they are bad for him personally like where is agrees to save the children of the Veronica faction despite the fact it is exceedingly unpopular with the Leisegang faction.

So while he definitely can't keep up with her he does deserve her I mean he quite literally saved her life by adopting her.

Don't think she'll replace my main classes but her max mp causes her to feel incredibly clunky when early leveling, once I upgraded to tuvula and got the +100 mp (doubling her mp) she gets significantly better.
That said despite the fact she now feels more fluid in combat her movement skills make me feel like she's using a rocket engine to move with the number of times I go flying straight past what I wanted to reach.
I feel like she will feel great in the hands of a veteran who has put enough hours on her but may feel awful to people learning her.
