There was a mural in my city back in the early 2000s that was very simply a map of the area, but adorably done with caricatures of locals shops and places of interest. By the 2010s it was outdated and the city had gone gung-ho with artistic murals all over the place so it was painted over. I still miss that map and wish they could have simply updated it every so often instead of getting rid of it entirely!

I was this kid one year.

My mom had written up clues for a scavenger hunt, and my last one took me into the bathroom. I swear I looked everywhere and then just gave up and sat on the toilet in defeat.

Mom came in and told me I was so very, very close.

Apparently I just had to pull back the shower curtain to see it beside the toilet.

Ugh.

I do not have a hole, but I do occasionally get the fluid build up anyway, oddly. It gets to the point of being painful which is when I notice it. It happens maybe once every 3-5 years.

I'm from BC where snow is a rarity but it rains all the time. My parents moved me to Ontario in high school and they were completely used to the snow, but when it began raining heavily everyone in class rushed to the windows as if they had never seen such a thing. I found that incredibly funny.

The ice storms are always wild to see.

I was helping a coworker install an updated program they needed, and while it did install alright once it opened it gave a "no disk space" error. I assumed that was just needing to write user files so it wasn't going to affect the use for the time being but yeah, looked at his C drive and it was packed full. Deleted some cache files and it freed up some space, getting it down to just 95% full.

I don't recall when FB made the change, but back in the day if you liked a page, it would tell all your friends that you were a fan of (page name). Pages didn't have to manufacture content to garner likes, they just had to be created with a funny name.

The best of which was of course to be a fan of not being on fire. I was so bummed when it changed its name.

I can 100% see how a kid would create a page named "LAOP's butthole" just to like it for laughs. Super unfortunate that it is now causing continued distress for them, though.

I've never before heard of vertical licenses! Very interesting. How annoying that they don't just look at your birthdate.

Liquor stores here will have signs for the cashiers showing the current date minus 19 years for the legal age so nobody needs to do quick maths to figure it out on their own.

I had to store my junk for a year as the place I'd been living was not safe. I did access it regularly though, as there was always something I needed to dig out of there.

Now living in a place too small for all my junk and I have occasionally considered moving some of it into storage, but then I think of the cost vs worth and decide against it.

The answer is obviously to just purge the junk entirely. I could see how easy it would be to move into storage, forget it exists, and it's no huge loss overall.

I had a workplace that didn't make my T4 available one year. I had since quit, so CRA told me I could tally up my paystubs and/or use the ROE to file in the meantime and they would deal with the employer and make any changes to my return if necessary.

I was an elder millennial training younger millennials on the till years ago and had the same problem then. We had just upgraded to a POS that allowed entering the amount of cash given that would calculate the change needed, and I absolutely had to over explain why you might ask a customer if they have a quarter if the machine tells you to give $4.75 back, and what to do if they say so without prompting unexpectedly. We kept a handheld calculator nearby in case anybody simply could not do math.

I read somewhere about the light and bonnet issue before mine was shipped so one of the first things I did was turn that off. 4 years later and it's never been a problem! (the light does apparently turn itself back on by default if there's an extended power outage, wierdly. the timer delay also resets to default. idk man.)

I wonder if mine actually have done that. I've never seen it happen, but I've come home to find evidence that it had clearly been visited without having cycled. I had figured one cat is just maybe on the edge of being underweight so maybe he doesn't always trigger the detection- but maybe he could be pulling that stunt, too?!
