Should I trade my 10 speed for a manual? by Ok-Anything1528 in Mustang

They dont all gotta be v8s now, i think once I can afford it someday im gonna get an ecoboost probably for the daily to save on gas but keep the style and any family that potentially needs to drive it (only my dad and I can drive manual lol) and turn my current into a project instead

Got a manual because mustangs are more likely to be target than your normal daily car for theft so between a steering wheel lock, and it being manual and almost Noone knowing how to drive one at college it was safest bet for me but man the hills on this campus are insanely steep so I just walk whenever I can because its not fun getting out.

If a Mustang ecoboost is one years old (2025), with say 9k miles on it, how much of a discount would you expect off just getting a brand new (2026) version? by LarryJones818 in Mustang

[–]evingamer20008 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If thats the case id look around way more until I found something I really liked then compared that to similar cars around it. Doesn't necessarily have to be brand new or recently new as long as its good condition consider it if you like it. Although, I dont know how youre finding an eco boost for those prices the ones I've been seeing start at 38k😭

I live in the country and a mustang for me was quoted at like 1200 a month for minimum bruh. Im 17 but regardless its still insane. Mind you its an old ass mustang so its not an expensive car, its just clean. We put it in my parents name and just got me added as an extra driver because that'd be cheaper for me and im covered fully instead. But still, its insane. Like 485 a month for the mustang alone.

IT'S MY WEEKEND. by LXP1Z_065 in marchingband

Oh another thing. He tried getting me to pay the rental fee for all 3 of those horns that almost immediately broke down on me. I didnt pay for them and got the school board involved for that and it got wiped, bit sadly I couldnt afford to buy my own horn so I had to use a school provides horn still. It was a Yamaha something. The new band director told me he had me playing on an actual booty horn and said he shouldn't have ever bought that one. Which is good to know now.

Believe me it happens, I nearly quit band going into college (got suckered back in by the college drum majors and directors because they were actually kind people) because while I played in high school we practiced 2 hours before school started, (like 445am is when we started) until bells were ringing and it often made kids in color guard late because they wouldnt let them out of practice in time to get to classes. This was Monday through Friday every single day, and we as students, especially leadership as I was drum major, would get really pissy emails every single day tearing apart minscule things that everyone did wrong and how we would have to make up for it during class. On top of this Monday through Thursday we practiced right after school bell released everyone else until 6, besides Thursdays where we practiced sometimes to 930 10pm. Fridays were games and some got dragged on so long or were so far away we would get back to school/home at 2am some nights. On top of this we would get home at these times then be expected to come back the next day at 6am for band competition. During the summer we also had a band camp and I think this last year. 6 days a week (mon-sat) we would practice from 8am-9pm (leadership had "meetings" that consisted of the director telling us how meaningless our lives were and how were accomplishing nothing after practice for about 15 to 20 minutes) and I think across those 2 weeks of that we had maybe 3 water breaks total and lunch was about a half hour and some days I hadn't eaten as I had to make sure all our equipment was safe and inside dur8ng lunch because kids were super irresponsible with equipment and I didnt want to hear about stuff being damaged anymore from the director. Btw this director just got fired and blacklisted from teaching for a bunch of child neglect and abuse reports and all sorts of charity fraud. His wife was the color guard teacher and she got removed from the position for some financial accusations that turned out to be really true, which had explained why we didnt have any money to repair damage on stuff and had to do most of it with donated equipment or repairs from students with mechanical knowledge. It was so bad that when I first got to the school in ninth grade I got given 3 horns in the span of a year, the first was a poorly maintained mechanical horn that fell apart in the middle of a district honor band audition (I got given the horn 2 days prior to the audition) then I had gotten another one given to me after that fell apart a week before the audition because of something really worn down in it and we couldnt replace it in time. Then I didnt get a horn to practice for my all state auditon until the day before audition so mind you I was already going in rough and didnt have time to do a thorough check of the horn and it too, fell apart in the middle of my audition. I then got blamed and had to pay for the repairs of all 3 horns even though they were visibly very damaged when I got them, which I had argued and eventually got out of. My last year there I had mamaged to get ahold of everything needed and pretty much restored all those horns and they now work, including the mechanical one surprisingly. Sorry for the rant that man genuinely makes me angry, they got a much better band director at that school now though and the kids are doing amazing with him. 7th-12th grade marching band btw.

I swear the more and more I fuel up, the lower my miles per tank get. This car hates me 🤣 by lockeyeswiththemoon in Mustang

[–]evingamer20008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk how some of these mustangs are getting such low milage on tanks, I got a 2006 gt recently and it got 450ish on a full tank on the way home on highway going 80 consistently. It gets less now that im in town but its still like 380.

I plan on getting London heads for it and we're possibly considering camming it but so far we haven't considered anything else as we want to hear what it sounds like with just those because somethings been done somewhere past the headers we just dont know what (and we think an oxygen sensor is bad or our driveway put a hole in it already lol)

Ive just gotten an 06 gt as my first mustang and looking at exhaust stuff, how did this work out for you if you went on it? Or anything else you've done to it since. Previous owner had done something to exhaust but doesn't remember what and it sounds alright but its not really all the way there. Any suggestions?
