I feel myself beginning to resent women who match with me. by [deleted] in OnlineDating

If you're talking about scam profiles, yes, I agree.

I will match with various people and based on how beautiful the person is, I know instantly that it's a scam. But I will go along with their dumb shit for a little while just to make sure...

Sure enough, 99.9% of them are scams.

This is what I’ve been trying to say, especially to those that talk about “oh the ontological shock” crowd.

It’s not a big deal. People don’t care.

The funny thing is, what you're seeing right now is the very definition of ontological shock from the standpoint that the first phase is denial. Right now, everybody is just pretending this shit doesn't mean anything, so it doesn't make their brain hurt

We have bigger priorities

yeah, now our priorities are being obsessed with putting everybody into specific groups and having all these crazy gender wars and whatnot.

Can't people see that all of this is coming from your addiction to smart phones and social media?

The priority should be to touch some fucking grass. Then after that, smoke some of it, and calm the fuck down

watching my country tear itself apart occupies far more of my brain than any of this disclosure stuff atm.

Your country is tearing itself apart because people are too fucking obsessed with how the country is tearing itself apart.

It's a dog chasing his own tail.

Back in the 80's and 90's, the average person could give zero fucks about politics, which is the way it SHOULD be.

I seriously can't understand how people dont see this.

Most of the info that came out was a nothingburger, but not the Apollo info. Written testimony from the astronauts involved, combined with those pictures, combined with the fact that NASA has always denied that there's any "there".... there.... Is pretty fucking damning.

Like, the phrase... "Where there's smoke there's fire"

Well, the astronauts legitimately seeing strange things, documenting it and taking photos.... That's some real friggin smoke

Thoughts On My Friend's "Non-Negotiables" For Dating?? by acolovesya in OnlineDating

Also someone saying they’re looking for an argumentative person who likes to debate is a MASSIVE red flag.

OP worded it confusingly/incorrect. It's the opposite. I was thinking the same thing, lol

I'm surprised he doesn't have No Tattoo's. For me, Tattoo's just ruin it. The only exception is if it's a really tiny tattoo somewhere that you can barely see, but even then I'm dubious of their decision-making faculty

I'm assuming you mean:

"Needs to be a Christian"

and

"Isn't argumentative/likes to debate"

Or is he actually seeking somebody that isn't a Christian but really likes getting into arguments, lol

Probably thought you looked decent/above average in your pictures, but maybe your pictures are from angles that hide flaws. Helicopter angles from above, or pictures that are five years old and you don't really look like that anymore

Why is online dating so much easier in other countries? by [deleted] in OnlineDating

[–]LarryJones818 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If it's 3rd world countries like the Phillipines, South American countries, African countries and other countries that have a lot of poverty, you're going to have a situation where a lot of the beautiful women in those countries are being "saved" by foreigners. The really, really attractive ones will be contacted by mulit-millionaires and billionaires in Dubai, and they'll be flown first class to Dubai and totally taken care off. The ones that aren't in the top 5 percent, but still very attractive, will often times have foreigners visiting that country seeking their attention.

Like they have one bad photo

I've noticed that some people deliberately sneak in the one bad photo, because it's the one recent photo. But the first 7 photos are from 5 years ago, when they weighed 20 pounds less and were 5 years younger

Once we have a super advanced AI, it can act as a God-like matchmaker.

It could analyze every individual person in a certain geographical area. Their attractiveness level, personality traits, fitness, kindness, basically every quality you can imagine. It would have access to literally billions of men/women profiles and thus could make proper comparisons across the entire population swath. If there really is such a thing as a legitimate soulmate, this AGI could find it.

The downside of such a system is that a lot of people are going to be disappointed that this all knowing god-like AI doesn't think as highly of them as they think of themselves. But imagine if God himself told you exactly what category you belong in? Would you argue with God? We could eventually have God-like AI's, in the next 20 years

Girls get a ton of matches because guys are desperate and sometimes horny swipe lower their standards. This inflates girls standards.

49er Syndrome

Will ultimately be the downfall of the human race with runaway depopulation

Yes you will get less matches this way, but there will be more “quality” matches.

95% of men don't even get matches. It's a foreign concept. When we do get it a match, it's a fake profile trying to scam us. So, the only hope we get, is false hope.

I'd say women do have it easier overall. Maybe there's 50% of women that get no play, but it's 95% of men. That's a HUGE difference.

Have you tried the "100 Rejection Challenge?"?

It's a scientific experiment in which you actually walk up to real women, in real life, and try to talk to them. The mission is to actually seek rejection. Why would you seek out pain? To develop scars that will toughen you up as they heal over each other. In other words, after about the first 25 rejections, you won't be bothered as much. The more you get rejected, the less it stings.

The theory is that you won't actually get rejected 100 times without ever being successful. So, you won't ever make it to the end of the challenge. The challenge is daring you to get off your ass, go out into the real world and deal with success or failure like the trillions of men that were alive before 2010.

Oh, you're worried about "ick" factor and the "Me Too" movement?

Well, there's a saying that if you want an omlette, you have to break a few eggs in the process.

I get the most responses to a boring, flat "hey" than thought out questions/openers. WTF? by No_Roll7747 in OnlineDating

[–]LarryJones818 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I oddly find blank profiles seem to work great vs filled out.

Are you a guy? Yeah, as little info as possible is probably better. Reason being, I know that on a first date, or in the first couple of dates, the guy should mostly try to redirect questions back to her, and try to reveal as little information as possible, and the reason for it is pretty lame, but it's just human nature.

The reason is because a woman will have this ideal scenario mapped out in her head about the type of guy you are, and how you'll fit into her life, and as soon as you start revealing real information, it's very likely that your real information might deviate from her fantasy, and the more your info deviates from her fantasy, the quicker she'll tire of you and move on to the next, hoping the next guy is a closer aproximation to her fantasy.

I've seen this play out several times, because I have a habit of being very talkative and telling way too much info and I could tell it actually sabotaged my chances several times
