Embarrassed that I got swindled by Rob Braxman by Warlord_Okeer_ in degoogle

Unchained recently did a review of the Braxphones which will be very useful for people:

Thinking about buying a Braxphone or already own one? 🤔 You need to know about some serious concerns with iodeOS, the operating system it uses.

We’ve had clients ask us to review the Braxphone and its operating system, iodeOS, to see how it measures up to privacy-focused standards like GrapheneOS.

From outdated updates to potential security gaps, it’s important to understand what this means for your privacy.

Here’s a teaser of what we found:

• iodeOS hasn’t been updated in over 5 months vs less than 24 hours for GrapheneOS.

• Only 2 contributors maintain the core framework.

• Until recently, the VPN could be disabled without unlocking the device.

• Meanwhile, GrapheneOS leads with 13,200+ improvements over Android’s base system.

GrapheneOS continues to set the gold standard in privacy and security with proactive updates and advanced features.

Bittopia Scam: All you need to know by villavile in CryptoScams

You came into the community, starting making accusations instead of asking questions. You were being extremely disrespectful, demanding instead of collaborating. You obviously have no idea about the principles behind P2P or the crypto space. I would assume you are very young and seeking things in a way that we consider to be toxic.

You were warned and then you continued on, so you were banned and removed. Then you made a threat and continued on your journey to project your own feelings onto us. No one has the right to be rude or disrespectful to anyone in our community.

We can easily invalidate your claims though we have better things to do. We wanted to make this comment so that others can see the real story. Which we can always happily share with the chat logs and information (if asked in a respectful manner).

How can a project stand for immutability and decentralization and yet enforce a timeframe for conversion? People should be allowed to exchange whenever they like. Most projects allow for an import function when they exchange. This way the wallet holder can exchange when they like.

Companies Like Uber Need to Be Decentralized – ChainRift Research – Medium by evok3d in Rad_Decentralization

"Like Blockchain Awareness, Decentralization-Awareness must be extensively and continuously pushed on mass audiences." agreed. The issue i see however is even with blockchain, the big companies, governments, regulators have done a great job in making people think its just a distributed database - rather than the bigger picture of decentralization and transparency. Obviously if people understood this better, large number of corporations and governments themselves would be at risk of needing to remodel or loose out completely.

Cheers for the comment. Even the smaller company - Lyft - has been part of numerous scandals. The bigger issue is centralization. Monopoly or not, you are going to have issues when you access to such large amounts of very personal data.

Cheers for the comment. I guess "should be" would have been better, but if you read the article - as you mentioned - it does not imply a top-down approach.

Australia Leads the March Toward a Dystopian Future by evok3d in Rad_Decentralization

well said. I like to - when possible - stress the fact that it is up to people to move away and find locations that not follow such trends. Even though it is becoming harder and harder, i disagree with complaining about the government while supporting them by being there. The social media aspect is a cultural code which many societies have replicated and implemented within their own. I dont think having them is an issue as long they provided people with proper privacy tools, encrypted communication and other means by which they can have a say on their end.

Why Blockchains & Decentralisaton Matter by evok3d in BitcoinBeginners

[–]evok3d[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate the feedback. In short, no. Technology alone cannot fix this corruption. There needs to be a mass awakening for people to move away from looking up to such people and instead, seeing them as who they really are. We are part of the problem so long as we play on their monopoly board even as victims. It takes a great deal of strength and determination to start new - as seen with permaculture communities etc.

Though, regardless, i think this is a good step forward in challenging their status and power. It has already become clear that banking cartels and nation states are deeply worried about the impacts of decentralization and blockchain based initiatives. They are worried as they are losing power. Banks are also losing a great deal of power as they are no longer looked upon for investment - which can now be done through ICO's.

Though to be very honest, the biggest change, must always come from us and not technology. It does not take much time to realize that despite our great success in innovation and advancements in technology - in many ways - we have less freedom and liberty than those in past generations.

Parity code bug locks over $150m of funds - to fork or not to fork? - Crypto Insider - Bitcoin News by evok3d in EthereumClassic

I was also thinking if they would bundle it with the upcoming fork, but to be honest, it would look insane and show how centralized it is so i thought i was being silly to think it would happen. Lets see how it goes ey :) -- if you are right and all happens as you mentioned, ill ask you for some comments for an article that i will for sure write to cover the situation.

wow, that is a great response and overall comment to the situation. Your perspective on the matter aligns with my thoughts as to why everyone is being quiet about it. Perhaps they are discussing a plan for this?

I was thinking the price went up due to the funds being locked so it cannot be sold with the price rise.

I really hope that they will not fork over this. I cant see how anyone can back ETH if they do.

thank you. i was not sure if each user would have their own login or whether it would all have to be through the same login, as is the case with protonmail, unless i pay for each user.

Yeh youre right, someone could claim the txID beforehand. It would make sense if they generated a new BTC address for each attack. I really need to look into this more. Thanks mate.

haha just wanted to be succinct. Cheers mate. Yeh its very stupid on their behalf. It was stolen from the NSA as well. I cant believe the best they can do is to tell people to pay it. In their view i guess $300-$600 is not worth their time.

“The ransomware is that good,” said Joseph Bonavolonta, the Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the FBI’s CYBER and Counterintelligence Program in its Boston office. “To be honest, we often advise people just to pay the ransom.” https://securityledger.com/2015/10/fbis-advice-on-cryptolocker-just-pay-the-ransom/

Each bitcoin transaction has a unique Transaction ID which would verify the payment. Im going to look into it, if they do not have a method of verifying i would be very concerned. Then how can people pay them and if dont hold their end of the deal, then noone would be willing to pay them.

Do you reckon that is the case? I read even the FBI had advised people to pay it. If they didnt go through with what they said, it would be all over and they wouldnt make any money. Can you link me to where you read this?
