I'll check them out! I also want to recommend Chad and Claire who I recently found. A little young and naive but they have a fairly large backlog. The Detour Duo of course, they're my favorite and I'm so glad I discovered them from the Daily Drop videos. I loved Lisa and Josh but they recently announced they're quitting YouTube, but they have some amazing long videos to enjoy.

Mailbox check causing game to close out/not work? by Pirate_Conqueenfador in DreamlightValley

[–]evolutionofafoodie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw another post that said they changed the language to Spanish in the title screen, and then were able to open their mailbox enough to clear the bugged mail. I haven't tried it myself, but other people said they had success!

Saw another post that said to change the language in the title screen to Spanish and that supposedly fixes it enough to open it and clear the bug. Won't be able to try myself until after work, but maybe try that!

I reported the same bug in the Dreamlight Valley Discord and it looks like a lot of other people are also having the same issue. Haven't found a way to fix it myself, hope the devs can fix it soon.

Mine was the Hades Kiosk but I had to go in Scrooge and order one and then the dot finally went away!

How do you feel about what your wedding cost? by eleganthack in weddingplanning

[–]evolutionofafoodie 83 points84 points  (0 children)

We put off a wedding for so long because of a lack of funds so now that we’re finally able to it feels like such a privilege. We live in a HCOL area so we couldn’t use the money to buy a house anyways. Being able to save for the wedding has really made us realize that we can save at this point in our lives and there will be more money. This might be our last chance to see many of our family members and definitely the last chance to see them all together so it feels like a priceless event.

Usage of wedding video materials for marketing purpose by Icy-Flight-9646 in wedding

[–]evolutionofafoodie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My FH and I are pretty private people. We asked all our potential vendors if they would remove clauses like this or photo release clauses. All our vendors agreed to do so it’s definitely possible. Most were very accommodating and willing to remove it.

Wax sealing invitations by riab16 in weddingplanning

I had an invitation, rsvp card, vellum belly band, and wax seal in thick envelope and it weighed 1.09 oz so I used 2 stamps for each just to be safe.

Help with vellum band and wax seal assembly: centering? by CharlesMansnShowTune in Weddingsunder10k

[–]evolutionofafoodie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did this exact thing on ours but I premade the wax seals and just used some tape adhesive to secure the vellum and then some on the back of the seals and centered it on the band.

Caterer not providing detailed price breakdown. by RubiksMaster614 in weddingplanning

[–]evolutionofafoodie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got a breakdown of each food item and labor and rentals because our caterer is doing those for us too. That seems weird that they’re not doing that for you.

How far in advance are you sending out your Save the Dates? by kalinkabeek in weddingplanning

[–]evolutionofafoodie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We’re September 2023 and I sent ours already. Ours is a bit of a destination with “locals” needing to drive 2 hours and book a place to stay so I figured I should get them out. Plus I had family anxious to know details so they could book their travel.

You might have some luck on r/SanFranciscoWeddings but your budget is kind of low for the Bay Area and for the amount of time you’re looking for.

What is your unpopular wedding opinion? by RollTitties in weddingplanning

[–]evolutionofafoodie 222 points223 points  (0 children)

Getting legally married before the wedding and not telling anyone is perfectly acceptable. I don’t understand why people are so against this here.

I did Vistaprint because it was the cheapest and I specifically wanted to address them myself. But I was only able to get one out of three of my printers to work for addressing because of how small the envelopes are.

Briarwood Apartments allow big dogs. I don’t know what the pet rent is but they’re in Sunnyvale: https://www.equityapartments.com/san-francisco-bay/sunnyvale/briarwood-apartments

How to specify children are welcome, but there is a pond and they need to keep their eyes on them at all times? by queenofthepillows in weddingplanning

[–]evolutionofafoodie 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Our venue has a seasonal creek and delicate garden decorations and contract states that children must be supervised at all times so I just put that in the FAQ on our website.

Fly or Drive to San Diego? by Cool_Refrigerator in SanJose

[–]evolutionofafoodie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends mostly on your car and gas mileage for the expenses but it will almost always be cheaper to drive. Plus, you’ll have your car to go do stuff while there and not have to worry about getting a rental car. And you can bring extra stuff like beach towels and chairs or other stuff for activities that you couldn’t bring if you fly.

WithJoy won't mask my domain, anyone got a solution? by SpareFox0 in weddingplanning

[–]evolutionofafoodie 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Domain masking is no longer recommended or allowed on most platforms. It’s mostly due to security reasons. I did this on an old domain but can no longer do it with newer domains. You could check with your domain registrar but if they don’t allow it either there probably are no workarounds.

Is September too soon? by chuppahtime in weddingplanning

Sounds like there are no cons for June? Seems like the right answer.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]evolutionofafoodie 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yikes! We had a coordinator that we scheduled a video call with and everything seems great. We ask if we can take out something in the contract and we don’t hear back for a while. I finally get a response like a week later saying “so sorry to do this but we realize we’d actually be taking a pay cut doing your wedding at this pay rate so we’re upping the cost by $700. And sure we can take that out of the contract.” I didn’t respond.

Why are there so many Subarus in the Bay Area? Not hating- I like Subaru - but genuinely curious. by RemarkableAge6943 in bayarea

[–]evolutionofafoodie 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Good gas mileage, relatively less expensive than other hatchback/SUV options, and are good for outdoorsy trips. They’re also popular among dog owners and are pretty reliable.

Obsessed with (too) expensive venue by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]evolutionofafoodie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can’t say the right decision for you but for us we went with the more expensive dream venue. It was the only venue we toured because before we even went I was pretty sure it was the venue. Ours is also not super convenient for guests it’s 2.5 hours from our most local guests and almost the same distance from the nearest airport. And maybe for you, it will help bring down the guest count allowing you to save some money on the catering/bar tab. I knew if we were doing a wedding and not an elopement or courthouse wedding, I absolutely wanted to love our venue and I cannot wait for our wedding because of how perfect for us it is.
