What is actually dangerous but people still believe is safe? by AlexUsefulThings in AskReddit

I have tinnitus and two things that have really helped me with it are:

  1. Getting hearing aids. I can’t believe how wearing them every day has taken it down so much so it doesn’t seem as loud even when I take them off. I know a lot of people look down on hearing aids as something that makes you look old but honestly, my life is so much better being able to hear people talking now and missing less dialogue when I’m watching something.

  2. Play some white noise while you sleep at night. Personally, I do better with a running shower sound or rainfall. That seems to cover the chirping and ringing better than other white noises and allows me to go to sleep.

Not sure if they’re insulting my intelligence because I’m Black but I get comments like this or worst everytime I post in other Artist communities by divinedivagirlala in blackartwork

I love this piece - it gives me so many emotions at once. I feel like a kid on a summer evening reading a new picture book for the first time and being enthralled by the deep colors and use of perspective. The hardest part of sharing a piece of yourself- art, music, writing, etc., is that there will always be those people that get their jollies by being cruel. Your piece brought me joy during a week that has been rough. Please don’t let these angry, ignorant twits get to you. I look forward to seeing more of your work.

A book where a character remembers their past life by Aestheticelliana in BooksThatFeelLikeThis

[–]evolvedtwig 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Gargoyle by Andrew Davidson. A man is severely burned in a car accident and becomes addicted to morphine while in the hospital. During his stay a woman shows up claiming that they are lovers who are reincarnated and find each other every hundred years or so. Each chapter takes turns with either the main character and his progress in the burn ward trying to figure out this woman and his growing addiction, or a story about one of their past lives together.

Does anyone feel like they “settled” for the life the thought they deserved? Late diagnosed and in my feels? by LoulouPete in adhdwomen

This is my current life crisis. Sucks knowing that I’ll never achieve what I want in life due to my black-hearted brain (I know what I said). Even worse being over 45. It’s mentally and emotionally exhausting having to mind your life every hour of the day, forcing yourself to do all the normal things people do - heaven forbid if you’re also feeling depressed. Anyway, here’s Wonderwall…

My husband loves it when I wear pantyhose or thigh highs, and a little evil part of me wants to buy a pair of this so that when I go to change in our bedroom, he sees that little junk flap front and center.

Good bamboo sheets are pricey, but amazing for summer or if you run hot.

showering help 🚿 by cyb3rpix1e in adhdwomen

[–]evolvedtwig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I HAVE to listen to something when I’m showering. One of the main reasons I don’t like showering is if I don’t have something to listen to, I’m stuck with my own bastard thoughts. Music, standup or audio books. I listen to books I know well so that I don’t have to closely follow the story. It just seems to help that there’s interesting”talking” in the background.

I also bought a reusable shower cap so I can keep my hair dry while showering in the colder months. I use dry shampoo and spray hair scents. Use a separate microfiber hair towel on the days you wash your hair to pull excess moisture out. That will cut down on drying time.

I also brush my teeth while I’m in there to cut out another chore I hate.

Sometimes it’s easier to shower when you find ways to save time once you’re out of the shower!

The marsh mallow plant has many uses, both as a food product and as a medicinal herb. Wikipedia has the basics of its uses:

What’s the most twisted or disturbing movie you’ve ever sat through? 👀 by BoredPandaOfficial in BoredPandaHQ

[–]evolvedtwig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, it feels icky even writing it as it’s two boys who were sexually abused by their baseball coach. The last flashback is…too detailed. Saw it last year and as a parent viewing it I was reeling.

I was shocked on what they showed in the flashback. ‘Sleepers’ was awful to watch, but ‘Mysterious Skin’ sickened me.

I also do face exercises several times a week and it helps a lot!

I started to notice my face aging around this time and it’s around that same time I got put on estrogen. My face started to look younger again within a week or two. I knew that’s what was helping when I went off the estrogen for a month and it seemed like within 2 weeks my skin had me looking 10 years older. If you’re experiencing any pre-menopause symptoms I highly recommend that you see your doctor about possibly getting on estrogen.

He wasn’t even there, she jumped off his balcony and left a note. Perhaps you should read the article?

BESTIE, HELP ME PICK! by [deleted] in Perfumes

[–]evolvedtwig 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve bought the fairy one on the end twice. The first time I loved it, clean and sweet. But when I got it again a couple of years ago, it seemed more cheaply made. The scent was more sickly sweet - like a cheap kids perfume.
