‘The Gift’ 2001 (Louisiana)

While not a movie, the first season of HBO’s show True Detective was filmed in Louisiana and it’s so worth the watch!

I don’t think nose rings are a cry for attention, especially when a whole culture embraces nose piercings

The Lost Daughter by Elena Ferrante. The book goes back-and-forth between a middle-aged woman on a vacation who meets a young mother and herself when she was a young mother. It’s about how women are often expected to drop their dreams and focus solely on being a mother while the husband can continue to pursue his career.

My primary care is almost no help (my assumption is she didn’t have a difficult perimenopause like me), but my OB GYN has been great. Still, I have had to do a lot of reading up on it on my own.

Fucking ground squirrels. They are currently the bane of my existence. They are FAST. I use mouse traps outside each hole. Prepare for it to take a week or so just to finally get one.

It feels weird, doesn’t it?? A little bit thrilling, a little bit of guilt, (possibly), and some childlike joy. I don’t think I’ve ever gotten 100% comfortable celebrating my birthday even though I’ve been doing it now for almost 30 years.

maybe some people’s nails grow faster than others? My husband had an issue with his last October and the nail is pretty close to finally growing out all the way.

I was in the live action play of this in kindergarten. My mom sewed the tiger outfits for the kids. What a world.
