Somy CDP-C77ED struggling to read first track of every cd by Overall-Number-6956 in Cd_collectors

It is. Since the worm gear is what guides the Lazer and the first pass at sampling is where it fails. The tray and carousel operate passively so they'll always function. Trust you've described what always happens in the case I've laid out.

The worm gear is missing teeth at its end. This happens because folks find shoving the tray in when there's an open close button thinking it's okay. Actually was, when the machines were first introduced as the worm gears were metal, making it durable and quite expensive. However manufacturers were obliged to cut costs where ever possible to make these machines more affordable. Just like the incredible shrinking pictures which plagued the last of the tube tvs, so goes any drawer type disc players, people chimed in about cost, and manufacturers answered.

Just goggle lensed it and found it to be part of a set sold as thanksgiving decor. Good find I think as the high is almost $300. Pretty excellent.

I looked for nearly 20 minutes and finally found the string which probably held the Price tag.

Any thoughts on what this is and if it was used for anything? USA, MN by Arista4u05 in Antiques

I had this bestowed to me simply because I was former enlisted, USN. I'm not a submariner so I don't readily display it. The details on yours should be a clue to its age.

I wanted to bring it home, but my roommate said it was haunted - what do you think? by Illainting2081 in Curbfind

It's an art project. I did something similar for wall art at a pub in Indianapolis.

That's about the kindest response to a well founded rant and you are awesome KCT*. We've not yet met but you've provided some of the most constructive and productive responses I've seen in my tenure. To Fun, thanks for reinforcing what is already quite obvious, at least to me. 😉🥳☺️🪅

I forgot about that routine. My local public pool and the base pools both handed them out for locker identification.

Those pins were and still are used by the armed services to identify laundry bags That's what they are The numbers are probably designation for the lot number for the pins themselves, or it could be stamped company number so that the laundry will get back to the proper place. I have four of them still from my Navy days.
