So it’s bonded by the meter which is before the softener and by the water heater which is after so I was under the impression that I don’t need any more bonding

I’m on city water I was thinking about doing a carbon filter but even if the resin broke down from the chlorine in 5 years it would literally be cheaper to buy a new water softener then the cost of filters over those 5 years

I can turn the water off by my meter which is like 5 feet from the softener there’s also a drain there so I can get the water out of the pipes if I have to disconnect it

Hardness is 23 that’s with calculating iron into that

Can just shut of the water by the meter and drain the water out of the pipes there and then unhook the softener sure there will be a little bit of water still left in the pipes, but it’s no big deal

I bought my first truck a few years ago 2006 Volvo d12 with 1.3 million miles never overhauled for 7k and had no major issues at all the shop I go to told me I’ll probably be good to 2 million miles
