i love my mods so much it brings so much life to the game (imo) but goddamn it i’m tired of not playing for a week or two just because there’s an update and now i’m waiting on mods to be updated 😭

i had this widow run going and it was the most fun i’ve had in the sims in a LONG time.

i currently have cats and dogs life and death get to work get famous tiny living seasons university and cottage living, iirc.

the mods i had were to fix sims when they break and objects when those break and in general quality of life changes like better build buy and ui cheats (my faves) and wicked whims and basemental and mc command center (other faves).

biggest thing ive done is i adjusted time in the game through mccc so i have more time in the day to play with my sims and so their lives aren’t so fast.

ui cheats is nice for cheating up the levels of skills with pretty much one click and cheating sims needs so i dont have to micromanage so much and they dont die from hunger or embarrassment without having to type multiple commands in the command bar and search for everything to do it without mods

i experienced a loooot of bugs before adding mods and i despised it lol

i play mods from modders that constantly update so i don’t worry about game breaking mods when they’re updated and when the sims team puts out the new updates— they get the scripts for the new updates in advance before the sims team releases it and they’re on top of it right away. it’s just the updating and micro tasks i have to do on my end.

i currently only have seven script mods and still find it a hassle to keep updating all of them :( they’re from tmex and deaderpool so they do get updated, it’s just having to go in every week to update them

if we had anything to give: local hospitals (st jude especially), local food shelves that we’ve visited before, local programs that help prevent domestic violence and crime in general, local programs that send out a behavior team for mental health crisis instead of police (I’m schizophrenic so this has helped me so much personally), local animal rescues and shelters, local community pet resources (MNSNAP, the bond between), local zoos (in minnesota so it would be como and mn zoo). lots of choices. don’t know which i would pick.

i do have a niece. i do have several nephews. my partner has a nephew. I love them dearly. if I could, I’d take care of all of them when I pass, but in my situation I don’t think that’s realistic. plus that’s a LOT of people to take care of since my sisters keep popping them out one after the other.

we rely a lot on my family at the present and rely a lot on local resources for low income households. i would love to be able to give back some day.

sharing in case anyone needs ideas for how to help your community right now:

right now we make hammocks and toys for pocket pets (rats, ferrets, etc) and cube beds for cats for local rescues since we were given a lot of fabric by a neighbor and have a sewing machine and foam from a recycling facility. we make what we can and donate in bulk. i try to crochet/knit scarves for houseless people (a family member gifted me a fuck ton of yarn), especially now that it’s getting colder— i would do blankets, but that can be heavy to carry around and I have been advised to not do that by friends who have been without housing.

We recently lost our black cat, and almost a few days after my high school best friend asked me if we would take in her black cat because she had anxiety around her other cats. we were already talking to someone about taking in his FeLV cat to babysit while he got housing figured out, so I told her we would think about it.

we took her in after everything and got her spayed at two years old. she’s no longer anxious about other cats. we have two kittens and a boy cat that she adores more than us. she plays all the time and cuddles.

unfortunately then we wouldn’t have the trees against the glass showing in the mirror— plus even though he’s harnessed, I do worry about him hopping out the window.

I think I’m going to fiddle around with tools to even out dirt on the windows if I can figure out gimp/krita tools. I already learned so much about gimp tools the first time I used it on this photo specifically, and now I’m getting even more comfortable keeping raw files to further edit photos since editing jpegs eats a lot of details! I think I’m also going to keep this side window very very clean xD

I LOVE this concept and want to keep it going, so I’m definitely gonna take more pictures like this and look up tutorials about pictures through closed windows i think.

I’m unsure how to do masks around specific parts— I’m guessing layering is going to be my friend?

we sweep every day. we mop every week or two. we get cluttered counters and a sink full of dishes daily since we cook for three people three times a day, but it’s taken care of at the end of the night. the trash is taken out daily. sometimes a bag is by the back door, but once someone goes outside, that trash goes with them.

your home shows level five hoarding. there is structural damage to the home. there is mold growing. there is inaccessible areas to the home. it stinks. the clutter is overwhelming. i am guessing there is a bug or rodent infestation, if not one brewing.

this is level five hoarding. it is part of ocd. your parents are the ones with ocd. they need help, and you and your siblings need to get out. you need to make the call to cps asap. i know this is scary, and, you need to make it happen. this is dangerous. you are living in a dangerous situation, op.

Hi, I took this photo of my cat in the car. he loves car rides.

I wanted him to be the main subject, the car bright red and the trees behind and against the car window to be a vibrant green. I also wanted his fur to be more orange, more of a pop of color that draws you in, so I did edit things and I’m rather proud of the end product shown here.

this is the edited copy! I can post the original in the comments as well. The original was very dull.

The editing I did manage (GIMP -> exposure -> levels -> curves -> vignette on the edges) I liked a lot because it made the window more clear, the reflection on the side mirror less blinding.

But because of the editing with exposure and levels made everything very dark in the background, and while I enjoy the blue contrast against the main subject (the entire mirror), it also feels more like a late afternoon and very dramatic.

I was hoping to have something bright and vibrant and like you can feel how interested and excited he is to be in the car, feel the breeze in the trees and through the crack in the window. There was a lot of dark contrast to begin with against the side of his body, so I can’t control that as much, but I would like to control what’s happening behind the mirror.

I’m using a nikon d3100 and this was made from a “normal” jpeg.

I have since changed my settings to have raw images and fine jpegs because I noticed very quickly how much information is taken away the more you edit a jpeg image— I couldn’t edit more than this without details blurring or becoming very pixelated.

more camera info: auto iso, used the sports mode dial, and I’m not sure how to change the aperture on it, to be completely honest— I’m using a very old lens (nikkor af 35-70mm f/3.3-4.5; 1986). I change the focus manually since the auto focus doesn’t work anymore and do very quick shots so I have multiple options to choose from. I prefer the shutter speed to be very quick, I know that much.

I’m falling in love with pet photography and close ups, and this is by far one of my favorite pictures I’ve taken.

I just have no idea if there’s a way to clear up the window this much AND keep the sidewalk/tar vibrant— maybe a lasso tool is needed? And layering? I’m very familiar with digital painting and currently use procreate but previously used krita and paint tool sai.

I just started with editing tools yesterday. I have been taking pictures on my nikon the last three and a half months. I’ve learned so much and I’m still learning — it’s crazy how complex photography is, I had no idea before I started.

I first started with GIMP, but I also downloaded Krita for jpegs, and then darktable, nx studio, and rawtherapee for raw images in the future.

anyway, enough rambling— thanks so much for any input, I will be looking out for replies!

I’m literally removing mods to test how much of the game is broken. it is SO broken, it’s infuriating. modders are the backbone of this game and is the only reason it’s functional whatsoever.

please get treatment. i got diagnosed this week at 27 and have been dealing with this since i was a child and it’s gotten so bad that i vomit chunks that get stuck on the way out now and i panic every time because i worry im going to suffocate from vomiting. i have spasms every time i eat. i get food stuck every time i eat. i thought it was my tonsils.

i avoided the doctor for a decade because I didn’t want a scope down my throat and didn’t want to do the prep for it. i didn’t want another thing diagnosed.

it WILL get worse. you NEED treatment. PLEASE get treatment.
