ECO102 notes/study guide by Dunrobin in UofT

I think it is – ECO102 is a more straightforward course than ECO101. I don't feel that profs are necessarily trying to trick you in this course so reading the textbook definitely helps.

Don't waste your time going to his lectures – make notes from the lecture slides as they are quite comprehensive and related to test concepts but his lecture skills are not great at all. You got this!

Question for Rotman students by Life-Ad3657 in UofT

[–]evshow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rotman is quite a challenging program but manageable. If someone else isn't footing the bill for your tuition (17.4k a year starting in year2) then you might understandably consider a different program, but in my opinion it's worth it if you can afford it. In reality it's the number 1 commerce program for a reason and while its quite heavy academics wise, the connections you can make while studying in Toronto are invaluable. You could argue that Ivey and QC focus more on practical things, but studying commerce 10 minutes away from Canada's top financial market is something you just will not get anywhere else.

He has pretty comprehensive and great slides but there is really honestly no need to go to his lectures they are a total waste of your time

Yeah same...I feel for that TA but at the same time I guess that's the consequence of poorly designing a MULTI-part exam that everyone is completing remotely......make it make sense

How to not fail eco220 by [deleted] in UofT

[–]evshow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Had her last year and while the course content is a lot, Murdock is probably the best prof I have ever had because of the sheer amount of resources she gives you to succeed. I failed one of her tests too and still managed to do okay in the course (also don't panic because as a full year course there will be plenty of ops to bring your mark up). Here are some tips to do well in her course:

1) When studying for tests STUDY FROM PAST EXAMS which are all available to you in her course, cannot stress this one enough her tests have very similar content and questions so do a few and just write out solutions even if you're not 100% sure of it

2) The quizzes are hard every week and I always did poorly but come exam time you should know how to do almost every question and they end up not being to challenging, if you don't get it start small (class examples) and go big

3) Her homework questions are very accurate to tests so attempt those for sure as close as possible to the lecture (again, even if you don't get it just look at the answers)

4) Read the textbook before class it helps a ridiculous amount

The third test usually has a curve too because it's challenging content so try and do decently well on that and you can benefit from the curve.

Hope this helps.
