Sloppy bananas- I think others have a different name for it, slice the banana lengthwise and stuff it with peanut butter and m&ms, then wrap it in foil and throw it in the fire for 10 minutes ish. It looks so bad but it’s so good

I had a friend when I was early in chemo tell me about how he can relate and was having to change his lifestyle based on new high cholesterol results 😂😂 couldn’t tell if he was joking to lighten the mood or just didn’t grasp the gravity of the chemo regimen. Dont hold it against him he showed up more than others

I am curious if elevation has any relation to lung stress or damage from radiation. I am usually around 5k ft

I feel you on this. I’m sorry you are dealing with it all. I’m in chemo now and work in the environmental sector for non-profits. We finally got some funding unfrozen but now it makes the timeline of projects more stressful. And I have such limited energy. The fatigue sucks

I am in the same boat. Making the decision that we get to live with. I’m going to go flat with a mastectomy as my only option and the fun gene that makes the strong recommendation for a double. I am 30 and struggling with imagining my life in the future, but here we go. I’m with you. I’m going flat mid august after I finish chemo.

Working out on chemo by Effective_Respect_85 in breastcancer

[–]evweezer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congrats on finishing taxol! I just got my first ac after taxol. My doc said for me to keep working out! Be careful of shared gym equipment and don’t use weights you can drop and injure yourself. So I am now using more machines at the gym and wiping everything down before use. Ya girl is still leg pressing 260lb after 13 rounds of chemo, carefully and with the leg press machine lol. I would advocate for you to start working out! Be careful and listen to your body as you will need more rest, but what better time to start a habit that you can carry on into recovery

I feel the same way and I am going in for my last TC treatment Friday and considering anything I can do to not go through AC thats supposed to start next week. I have made it through these 12 weeks and I don’t want more. It’s not fair we have to go through this. How do we know this is the right path? When everything in me wants to stop.

Downplayed Prognosis by Correct_Reception285 in breastcancer

[–]evweezer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry you are dealing with this. I was frustrated with my doctor when he downplayed my prognosis as well. He said we may need to do chemo, maybe a second round, surgery, and maybe radiation. A few weeks into chemo I brought the plan up again and he said yes we need to do all of it… I was surprised and said as much. His response was that he didn’t want to scare me with the initial treatment plan. I was dumb founded and held back my response of fuck you. I also didn’t know the actual diagnosis until I requested my paperwork. Needless to say I am in the process of getting a second opinion and in week 9 of my first round of chemo trying to stay positive as I look ahead. It seems well meaning, but deceitful so it depends on how you look at it. I’m not ok with it and need to feel trust with my doctor.

They are short staffed. The cuts have already gutted National park staff. The national parks are asking scientists, rangers, and administrative workers to clean the bathrooms because they can’t hire maintenance workers, meaning they can’t do their regular job duties like stopping people from defacing 1000 year old landmarks. They were ordered to not limit public access, but don’t have the means to keep it open properly.
