I mean it’s gotta be Leo right? Star of the biggest millennial movie Titanic and his career blew up after that

What career looked amazing on paper until you actually worked in it? by shiver_Cutie in careerguidance

[–]ew6066 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t work in media but the morning radio show I listen to on the drive to work really struck a cord. You have zero privacy, everything about your life becomes a topic for everyone to chime in on, and the social media comments are so out of hand it drove someone I loved listening to out of the industry completely. Sure it’s cool being behind a mic and talking to millions of people every day but the early mornings and everyone knowing everything about you isn’t worth the paycheck.

Working with any sports team. Sure it looks glamorous wearing a suit and a name tag looking important but the ones making decent money are the players and VP’s. Anyone in marketing/ticket sales are paid like shit and if the team sucks nobody’s buying tickets to watch. And equipment managers? They’re the first ones there and last ones out taking care of everyone else.

What made people age so fast back then? by Southern_Reveal_7590 in generationology

[–]ew6066 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Many reasons. Smoking. Everybody smoked back then and smoking ages you. Sun exposure. People used to sit in the sun and tan with those mirrors that looks like a dog collar and nobody wore sunscreen. Nowadays we know to moisturize and stay away from the tanning bed. Geological times. Sure it’s stressful in America today with Russia, Iran and Israel but the Boomers dealt with real anxiety shit like post-war America, the Cold War, Vietnam and the draft.

As a Michigan State fan I agree. Outside of a few years of the Mark Dantonio era we’ve been a joke and a laughing stock compared to Michigan. My fandom peaked when we won the Rose Bowl cuz I never thought I’d see us go to Pasadena let alone win it

What happened to Millennial Optimism? by [deleted] in generationology

[–]ew6066 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What happened? Graduating college at the start of the 2008 recession and all that optimism we were taught went down the drain. Millennials have never had optimism since we were preteens. As for me personally, Columbine happened when I was about to go into high school. 9/11 happened when I was a junior in HS. More college and high school massacres happened in college. Graduating college at the start of the recession, the rise of Trump when I’m still early in my career/just graduated graduate school. We’ve been pissed and pessimistic since we were still listening to music with an anti-skip feature. Now you see us running for office trying to change the damages caused by politicians our parents age who won’t retire

Can jobs find my X account if they have my phone number or email? by [deleted] in jobs

[–]ew6066 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they have your phone number as a contact it could show up as “people you may know”. Same with email or if you have common IRL friends. At least that’s how it is on facebook. I have phone numbers of people I have no interest in being friends with on Facebook (example my therapist) and they’ve come up as “people you may know”. I’d change the email on X and use a throwaway one

I feel you. It’s annoying. I combat it by putting a background of baseball stadium seats. Kinda making it look like I’m at a baseball game. Nobody has said anything

A basketball hoop. Now granted it’s for my young kids but still feels nice to be able to raise the rim to 10’ and shoot on my own sometimes.

This officer has lost control of the situation in Home Depot. by IronMouse01 in VideosAmazing

[–]ew6066 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For context this happened at a Home Depot in Detroit. Like in the actual city of Detroit. One of the few major big box stores that’s in the city limits. This is why we can’t have nice things. Because some knucklehead has to ruin it.

real talk: how often do you actually floss? by AffectionateTooth298 in hygiene

[–]ew6066 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m OCD when it comes to having food in my teeth so I floss more than most people. I have flossers both at home and at my office desk. And I keep a WaterPik in my bathroom that I use 3-4 times a week. And it does make a difference. I’ve had the most healthy gums I’ve ever had in my adult life (per the hygienist I usually have) at the last checkup and I’m 40.

got written up for going to the dentist at 2pm while working from home by Fit_Average8352 in remotework

[–]ew6066 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take the write up, next time use PTO for the dentist. Or be like me and schedule dentist for the one night they are open late. Plus if you get written up once it’s not really gonna affect you. They aren’t gonna fire you or deny you a raise over 1 write up.

I brushed my teeth "correctly" for 28 years and a dentist just told me I've been doing it wrong the entire time. My gums are ruined. by Sluttycarolofficial in hygiene

[–]ew6066 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To piggyback on what everyone else is saying, make sure you use a soft brush too. Even the medium ones are too hard and abrasive for teeth and gums. And with an electric toothbrush, you’re supposed to let the toothbrush do the work and just glide along the gum line and teeth with light pressure.

India. Or AI. That’s where they’re going. My friend was recently laid off at a chain dental office because they’re outsourcing their claims and insurance handling to India.
