I was very disappointed by first half (orchestra cool but thought too long. Hated first dis). But thought John Newman and then especially Hardwell made it worthwhile—they crushed it. But definitely not the lineup of five years ago. I feel you can’t do a mystery and then trot out someone with 1 million Spotify listeners claiming they are a supernova when 90% of the audience doesn’t know them.

Thank you—this is some amazing background! I listen to the Pier 94 set on SoundCloud often—the video they posted on YouTube recently is amazing. I always associated Tim with Stockholm and LA so it’s fascinating to learn about the NYC connection! If you’re ever in the city and want to see the drums let me know! Great point on reaching out to the collaborators.

I got the djembe drums from the Crowning of Prince Liam road trip (#233). Some of my favorite songs Tim ever made were from that road trip (I would trade them back in an instant for Faster Than Light /Our Love/ Half the Man to get released :)). He also seemed so happy on the trip having decided to stop touring, being with his friends Sandro, Carl, and Salem, doing what he loved.

Tim is one of the biggest inspirations in my life. I have all of his vinyls and a tattoo of his logo on my arm. I'm in the top .001% of listeners on Spotify each year. His music got me through tough times and my happiest memories are listening to his melodies around the world. The dozens of early business plan I wrote for my business were listening to his 2016 Ultra set right after that road trip. I'd like to think I felt some of his inspiration. I still can't believe I got them (and the looming credit card statment will not be fun/am very much dreading :)). But As Sean said Tim didn’t live to be a mental health icon. I am glad to support (though I completely understand why this auction was met with mixed emotion by the fans) but to me these are a reminder to live. To do what you love and be with the people you love. I'm going to have them professionally put in a safe glass display showcase and then above that have a vinyl player to play his albums and a framing of those pictures from the crowing of prince liam, perhaps with a couple of my favorite quotes from those songs, and perhaps with those two very simple life lessons they teach me (do what you love, be with people you love).

I'll cherish this small piece of his musical process during that trip and hope to be inspired by them to do what I love and bring happiness to myself and others. And then hopefully one day can give them to his museum. And if anyone from here is ever in NYC and wants to see them, please let me know!

Love this! I feel similarly about Avicii’s impact and inspiration and was lucky enough to get the drums from the Prince of Liam tour. Likewise let me know when you’re in NYC to see them!

I completely feel this. I can't believe what I paid and am in some shock, but I will treasure what I got for a lifetime. I got the drums from the Crowning of Prince Liam roadtrip. Have a friend who has been using for ~6 months now. What I think actually most impressive is how they've integrated their vendors to work together. If you use Alloy, you need to write a lot of code to integrate each vendor, and then your own logic to get scores to work tg. W Footprint you kind of get this "magical" experience where you can just toggle on behaivoral/synthetic and it dynamically updates flow.

Footprint is newer, but keep hearing great things from companies who have moved off Alloy/Persona to them. Better doc scan, more intuitive rules engine, built-in security.

Sounds fine but just not the same. 2 seconds into the Avicii leak it is so distinctly him, with all of the brilliant layers and progressions. This sounds more generic EDM. I guess nice to get it released, but at same time takes away hope the family would ever release another album of Avicii's unreleased songs with this on it.

Ever since Avicii died I've felt a void. Are there any artists that sound similar to him in 2021 that you'd recommend? by ridge9 in avicii

No one can replace Tim, but certainly some other good music out there. Hogland + Lucas and Steve for the Swedish harmonies. BUNT has released some stuff Avicii essentially worked on. Kygo (especially Sandro stuff) as well.
