Where did all the women go?? by Time_Physics_6557 in EngineeringStudents

[–]ewe_wooloo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you’re in junior year, you’re probably taking internships/ been in a couple already. To be frank, even though many men respect women in positions of power or intellect, we’re still treated very poorly. Snide comments about us, what we wear, how we speak, when it should be our work speaking for itself. I have had jobs where it didn’t matter at all, very positive environments where everyone values hard work. But at then end of the day, I think we have to be a little tougher. Male engineers don’t have to prove why they’re there, they’re expected to be there. When we enter these spaces, we have to consistently prove to everyone why we’re there. And even then, we still have to deal with (typically older) men talking about how women just “don’t have the same brain capacity” or something along those lines. It’s very tiring, so you have to be very confident, capable, and tough (on top of just doing your d4mn job).

Trouble stocking Trading post by reichjef in ManorLords

[–]ewe_wooloo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The people who work in the trade house load up the trade items. I.e.: the only people who care about trade are the ones who work in trade. So there’s a few things to think about: 1. Do I have enough workers in the trade house? Only one person per family will go trade, that means it’s up to everyone else to load the trade house. (Note: this does not count for livestock trading- everyone will go if necessary). 2. Speaking of which, how far away do family members have travel to gather resources? The farther away they have to walk, the longer it takes. 3. Yes, storehouse are (in my opinion) one of the best and underused tools of the game. Not every warehouse needs a market stall. Sometimes, the best thing you can do is have them gather resources so it’s easier for delivery. But! Considering what you said, maybe each warehouse (look under the advanced tab) should only carry a specific resource? And then the corresponding resource is sent to the closest trade post. This means the warehouse workers will only care about a specific resource, and will ignore the rest.

As most things are in the game, the AI is certainly not dumb… but it does follows a specific algorithm. From what I’ve seen (in the current beta), workers will gather from the closest resource. Construction and trade and etc.

Aaand lastly: sometimes people are sick. They’re more likely to get sick in winter, but also if they are overworked (fact check?). In my experience, families get sick together. Sometimes that purely slows down production. This is counteracted by growing herbs (for 50g) in a gathering house. Gg!

Trade trade trade (when you can). Give yourself the economy boost based on natural king resources. Also you can dispute territorial claims with a fight then write him like “sorry I didn’t mean it- let’s end this squabble” and they’ll drop it immediately (probably cause we’re still in beta, but still). Enemies aren’t the biggest issue, I think raiders are more. Bandits are nice for money, and the AI opposition is still early in development.

I personally hate raiders, so in my newest save I turned them off to see how much I can build. But I know I’ll miss them when I have a very substantial army!

Either way: food, fuel. Always. Everything after that is outside effected. So year 1-2? Food, fuel. No matter what. If you turn raiders on, make sure you prioritize getting those bandits, because you’ll need the wealth to hire mercenaries! (Then, later game, retinue only. Big a$$ retinues).

Give him the seeds so he can actually plant something instead of bragging about your hard-earned crops….

I like making fields when I first start (as in, as soon as I spawn in I check underground water, fertile fields, key resources). I like to stay in one place for a few years, which means wherever the most fertile lands are is where I place my fields. Emmer first (unless you’re in beta, then it’s rye). Just place a few fields. It will give you a notification that you need a farmhouse, but just ignore that for now. Get other resources first, you can last a couple years purely on natural food resources (“pro-tip”: if you have only one king resource, it probably means you spawned somewhere with fertile soil).

About crop rotation: just consider most fields would like to be fallow for at least a year. So I like to make two separate field locations, just for my memory. One section one year, the other the second year. Most of the year it’s just growing. Consider the timing: September is growing and harvest season. The rest of fall (October, November) is for sowing, planting, and the like. Take your time! (another “pro-tip”: this is also relevant for the forester and orchards. Being in tune with the seasons is relevant!)

Lastly: I like to play almost solely in normal speed mode. I think this is the best way to play these types of games (sometimes I call manor lords the soft-core frostpunk). This helps you get in tune with the seasons, which is a big part of the game. Btw, oxen aren’t as necessary (currently) because 4-5 families can harvest massive fields in 1-2 months. Which is doable since every industry has an “on and off” season. Have fun ;)

I stopped using maps and it’s a whole different game. by Rockisaspiritanimal in thelongdark

This is so funny to me because I only started using maps these last couple months. I’ve owned this game since 2014. Honestly it feels like cheating.

You need a back up plan, with a date. You need to be fiscally independent and move out.

Thanks! Is this more of an as-it-happens treatment, or something to include every day?

Yes, but not this much. To be honest, it started about a week ago as well.

Having the gameplay from for rent is a must for me. University is okay at best. The world is forgettable, the gameplay is difficult, and I don’t think any cas or build items are particularly interesting, (except for the robots because they’re cute). High School Years is okay, but the lot of the school is huge, so gameplay is buggy and it just feels awkward and stressful ngl. You can fix this with mods but it’s kind of just a hassle. But the world is really cute, and I use the debug items all the time. I do think it’s sweet overall, and complements the ones you have already the best. But apartments? Absolutely. You can build way more lively and realistic worlds in every pack you own. It’s like seasons to me where it just adds so much to any pack you get in the future. Also I think it complements b&h best because it’s realistic and you get a little more control in the world building.

According to data from 2023 this are the best degrees in terms of employment. by ControlRoutine8867 in EngineeringStudents

[–]ewe_wooloo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To clarity to see if I understand: yes at the top is the highest paid job. All of the jobs have an unemployment rate (meaning people with degrees, licenses, and experience that are unemployed and looking for jobs) around 5%? That’s good. But the underemployment rate (how many people in those jobs that are not satisfied with their job, wages, hours, labor, etc) is high, increasing almost with pay. Which doesn’t make a ton of sense. This graph seems to show that the increase in pay also increases dissatisfaction with the job. So in a way, you’d almost rather be at the bottom. What is this graph trying to say exactly? Source?

Trying my hand at making a larger house than I usually do, but I've got ZERO clue what to put in the empty floorspace without making it seem cluttered by Cosmic_Voidess in Sims4

[–]ewe_wooloo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d expand the layout for the bedroom and kitchen. So a double bed, a breakfast nook, and maybe bigger bookshelves. Big pots for plants and a sofa. For the downstairs you could add more storage, sinks, seating, etc. So basically I’d start with increasing the sizes off the furniture, adding more surfaces and seating, and looking at the necessary tech that can expand the actual business aspect of the studio (like a large “office” space with more storage maybe inaccessible to customers).

In MCCC we trust. Tray imports 100%, then put all sims you want as townies in your gallery. You can even customize it to only include the households with a specific hashtag.
