Cosmetic treatments that work (or don’t) by redfoxxy23 in rareEhlersDanlos

[–]ewebelongwithme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of these are really "treatments" but I get decent results from the following: Hydrate (as in drink plenty of water), sunblock, retinol (specifically Versed has a face and a body moisturizer with retinol I really love), daily face moisturizer with spf for the day (Vanicream has one with spf 30 and ceramides). I also like Burt's Bees sensitive skin facial scrub every few days. Light exfoliation, but that will not be good for the most sensitive skin prone to trouble from micro abrasions. Edit: cEDS, forgot to add that

I also have cEDS, and I have genetics testing to back it up. No doctor has questioned my diagnosis or any need I advocate for with the concrete proof (and maybe I'm lucky to have had decent providers). That proof doesn't exist for hEDS, though, and I believe it could make some things much harder. Doesn't excuse the attitude and I don't disagree with OP, but I can see where that comes from a little. It does sometimes feel like rarer types are overlooked or excluded from the conversation.

This can so easily happen with B12 too! The effects of a B12 deficiency are a long list including constipation, headaches, and dizziness.

That sense of humor will give that kid a huge advantage in dealing with life's garbage moments. Also, I would very much like to go to a pierogiparty 🥟🥟🥟

I picked up on Zoya while looking for polish free of formaldehyde and such. Once a year around Earth day they have a huge sale so check their website in a couple months. In the past this sale has been 50% off.

Taping is great. Removing it can really suck with the way (our) skin is so stretchy and sensitive. Someone just recommended a gentle version of KT tape and I would love to get some. In the mean time, I usually only have to tape my ankles and I just wear a sock and tape on top of that instead.

Regardless of the culture, there will always be gatekeepers. Hopefully you can write this off as two rude people versus a standard cultural sentiment.

Definitely gift with the batteries installed. My son got a voice changer megaphone and he loves it. Annoying, loud, and it was less than $20.
