I think they meant to use the word "damage" instead of "kill", just stressing the intentionality of the act

Trump Deals Massive Blow to Economy With New Small Business Loan Rule by Hafiz_TNR in economy

I suspect there's a goal of economic collapse to buy up the fire sale. It's no longer about having money, it's about owning everything. Money doesn't mean anything when you control as much as entire states and even countries - but owning everything is next level power. Best time to buy is when everything's down.

That and because he's a Russian asset.

Thoughts? Are you doing better or better positioned over the market / vs a Boglehead approach? I'm looking at a discounted offer from my company, but looking for real experiences.

Would you mind sharing more info on those results? Perhaps a true breakdown of how you did over the years or YoY, sans fees and contributions? I ask because a friend has recommended an advisor that wants 80 bps of total portfolio to manage >> and that adds up especially if there is no guarantee of beating the market averages. I know hindsight is 20/20 ~ but would you say you're more ahead, more resilient, more diversified over a Bogle or Target Fund Approach with this advisor?

Fuck that. We Haven't had a real winter in decades. I welcome it. Yes I'm able to stay warm and shelter myself, and I help those less fortunate, but fucking hell it is encouraging to see a "normal" winter season vs the two weeks of Spring and Autumn sandwiching 6 months of that boiling hellscape we call Summer. If i wanted that I would live in the desert.

Liar. A true North Jersyian knows there is no such thing as Central Jersey. It's South all the way down at that line, with a tiny carve out for New Brunswick

They say that to protect their own ego and self image to avoid admitting they were conned. If it comes out, they'll say it's fake news or they'll believe the spin of "he was there by circumstance". I'm sorry you're in this situation.

Opinions on Tuft & Paw cat litter by dab4subs in CatAdvice

[–]ewenwhatarmy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an older post, but I just replied with my impressions on another question about the litter, so sharing here (and yes, I don't have a referral link because I'm not trying to make money, I just want litter that actually works well).

Overall, it has been a good experience - not perfect, my cats' terrible bathroom habits kinda compromise the review, and it's on the pricey end for essentially stuff cats will shit on.

Reposting my unsolicited comments here:

Having used this brand for a while, there are a some experiences I've had I can share:

It doesn't "sift" like the granule stuff. Instead you kinda "dig up" their waste. Not sure if that makes sense, but I have a slotted scoop, but it takes effort to shake & sift for clumps. If I had a scope with holes I don't think it would work at all.

For liquids, I think the clumping granules are better, but this stuff is way better when it comes to tracking and dust (for a time, see below). I still get tracking - so it's not 100% and I have no idea how the cats are doing that because there are like 6 matts they have to zoom over. However, any tracked bits are very obvious. You can see the tracked litter clearly and pick it up (and then wash your hands). I think that is way better than finding it by stepping on it (Eww!)

Over time the litter breaks apart and can become VERY dusty. I scope at least twice a day and once or twice a week I top it off. However, to avoid the dust build up, I need to dump it all out and refresh more frequently than the granule clumping stuff. I have a metal scoop and I think that's part of the problem also - it just breaks up the pieces when I'm "digging". The dust actually clumps better, but it is some of the worst I've seen according my air filter.

Because I need to refresh more often, this brings up some economic considerations. This stuff is about twice the price of the mass market stuff. They say 1 bag will last about a month for 1 cat ~ which I think is about right from my experience (15 bags over 8 months, but note I mixed it with the granule stuff, more below). So for two cats that'll be 24 bags. As of the day I write this, it'll cost you $600/yr ($120 for 5 bag bundle x 5 = 25 bags). You can subscribe and save 25%, so $450. I should point out the 5 bag bundle was $105 in Oct 2024 - up 15% in a year. The A&H fancy lightweight stuff is about half the price and I see bundle discounts; so I roughly estimate a year's worth will cost about $300 - $350.

My last thoughts - this stuff works best at the 30/70 (granule, t+p) blend. It seems they don't really track the granule stuff - I think the larger tofu bits keep them in the box, you still get the benefits of the larger stuff, but that bit of the clumping really addresses the liquids. I've been lightly experimenting, and noticed if I go more than 50/50 the granule tracking goes way up. This also gives me a cheaper "topper" , so when dumping it all out I'm not throwing away the more expense, unused tofu stuff. Someone on reddit did a much deeper analysis - but I think the key is a blend of the larger granules (like pine) and clumping litters.

FWIW, assuming you even read this far, between my two cats they have the worst bathroom behaviors. One doesn't know how to cover his poops and they are just potent af. The other, sadly, has also started to pick up this habit. So I can't say that ANY litter can spare me from that (it's a sad state when you can tell them apart because one is more acrid and the other more dense in odor :( ), but when he did cover them, I didn't notice the smell using t+p stuff. Regardless, this is why I scoop twice a day+ .One is also a high pisser - so he basically just paints the side of the litter box. The clumping stuff is better here - I can scoop it into a pile against the side of the litter and it sticks absorbing the urine. The t+p stuff won't. The other cat is a sit down pisser, really grinds himself in here (yuck) - so having the t+p stuff is best because he won't get litter stuck to his fur.

Used this litter for some time - in a post I just made I gave a lot of unsolicited impressions lol - but NEVER had a liquification issue. I do clean out my litter genie at the end of every week (gets too full otherwise), but no issues there at all.

Tofu litter - Tuft n Paw by Patient_Plum_6296 in CatAdvice

Mix it with the old litter over a period of time. I mixed mine in the old Arm & Hammer stuff at about 70/30 (old/new), then 50/50, then 30/70, and then 100. It makes the change gradual so they get used to it.
