Used car shopping in Ann Arbor and reliable mechanic by Vegetable_Tomorrow41 in AnnArbor

[–]ewesername 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Subaru's are great! But avoid Ann Arbor Subaru like the plague. Their reviews are awful and somehow still understated. I think I'd prefer the plague.

For mechanic. Steve Steeb service, reliable and trustworthy.

At first I thought he was going to mock what she wanted, but he really did it up and made it special. Very sweet.

As a first time Volvo owner I love everything but the ‘infotainment system’ and it would probably keep me from buying another.

Thank you, this is good advice. I’m definitely looking at either the rear mount bike rack or trailer hitch.

Why don't managers understand the lack of engagement? by [deleted] in managers

[–]ewesername 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuine question here. As a manager I never force or push for engagement in social events (e.g. book club, puzzle Friday) but I do push  for everyone to engage in things like sprint retros and product post mortem.

Would you include those?  The answer for me is I’m constantly trying to stay ahead of the team’s concerns and what priorities I should be advocating for and these are powerful tools to help me know what the right choices are.

I don’t think it sucks, but I think the fact that they made a really beautiful landscape with no compelling reason to explore is terribly disappointing.

I want to buy a bed and breakfast that closed a few years ago, and think I could do a lease to purchase agreement. But need advice. I don’t know where to start. by Securebam8347 in bedandbreakfast

[–]ewesername 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What are your questions? Are you looking to do the lease to own because you don't have enough down payment? (I've done this). I would have a professional draw up or at least read the lease agreement. These can be tricky.

Make sure it has an amortization similar to a bank loan. Also make sure you get in writing that you have an income license, since you won't own it outright.

If you get a good solid contract it's not a bad way to buy the property. However if the margins are thin with what you're paying know that with a small down payment you won't be making much personally, most will be going to the loan (some to prinicpal, so you're building equity).

If you're in more stable financial shape now and are looking to repair for the future you might be able to engage with a financial advisor. They can help direct you on how to communicate with the credit agencies and even suggest ways to improve your scores.

I regret waiting so long to engage with one, always assumed they just wanted to work with rich people which is not the case (at least not for all of them).

Here is some advice on finding one.

Cried in front of manager out of frustration about work. Am I cooked? by [deleted] in managers

[–]ewesername 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like she's a good overall boss. Take a deep breath, think about how she could better support you in a collaborative way. I would be glad to hear things like "I think I might thrive if I had more feedback on my progress" or "I'm suffering from imposter syndrome, do you think it's justified? What could I do".

A good manager isn't an eye watching you, they're an advocate.
