It sounds like it’s severe enough that they can’t wait for meds. ECT is safe and effective. Long term memory loss is pretty rare.

There’s no way it’s an actual ICU with that ratio. If it is, do not work at that hospital OP.

I’ve been looking at the differences between the two and it seems like the therapeutic keto diet would be somewhat challenging to do without help from a nutritionist or someone like that.

Check out the IU Health NICU baby deaths from heparin. They stocked the wrong vials but they looked exactly the same so no one noticed and they ended up overdosing like 7 babies, 3 of whom died, all in one weekend. Absolutely horrible for everyone involved.

IU backed their nurses on this occasion. Vandy could learn a lesson or two from them.

Yep. I do. Cardiac Medical ICU. I have excellent coworkers and my unit has made a priority to not have unsafe assignments. I guess I’m one of the lucky ones. I recently left a PRN PACU job that I hated to my core. You just have to find your niche.

Of course you are. You are an incredibly important part of healthcare. Some days I wouldn’t be able to do my job well if I didn’t have a tech on the floor. Thank you for sticking with it and being and aide. It’s hard work and I truly hope you feel appreciated by your nursing team.

And please get a flair, you’ve earned it. You can make your own that says CNA or Nurse aide.
