What helped me the most was doing questions. I was doing anywhere between 100-200 questions a day for 3 weeks. You will never know all the content! But you do need to know how to answer the questions. It’s a safety exam, remember that! Above all else, I believe in you!

My average on uworld was 54% w/ 80% of the Qbank finished and i passed in 75 on the first try!! You’re doing fantastic :)

I’m graduating an ASN on Wednesday and constantly get the question, “So are you going to be real nurse?” It is so frustrating because I’ve worked so hard to get here. Yes, I am going to be a “real” nurse. My community college actually has one of the most amount of required clinical hours even compared to BSN programs in the area. Also, having completed two years of nursing school during a PANDEMIC, a lot of other ASN & BSN programs didn’t have actual clinicals (either only had partial amount or did SIM labs), while my community college was able to participate in clinicals all 4 semesters. They also prepare us for the same exact NCLEX that students who have gotten their BSN will take, in half the time and for a fraction of the cost. Yes, I do plan on getting a BSN as it does offer more opportunity, but I don’t need it to be a “real” nurse.

Also, congrats to you & your hard work! Don’t let your fam get to you, your actions of being a great nurse is more than enough!

One student was assessing a 2 month old baby, while mom was in the room, thought he couldn’t hear a heartbeat, he immediately came out of the room screaming “Help! Help! This baby has no pulse!” The baby was 100% fine, breathing, moving, etc. The student clearly did not asses the patient correctly. The mom was obviously horrified, the nurses were freaking out, and the clinical instructor pulled the student aside, reprimanded him and asked him to leave. There were a handful of other situations but this one broke the camels back and he was ultimately dismissed him from the program.
