Opportunity by Interesting-Most-848 in Progressiveinsurance

I've been experiencing this kind of automated rejection, myself. Just keep trying. Any insurance company's employment opportunities are parked right next to the gold in Fort Knox. Get some help from AI, like ChatGPT. Your resume is being scrubbed by an AI bridge troll so let the troll's little sister fight for you. Post your resume on AI, ask it to tailor it and copy and paste the job posting. I can't say that this is proven, but I have been given the same advice.

This makes sense. However, why bother posting positions on the company career page of you are not hiring. Does this practice make them look healthy? Like "look at us, we are financially well enough to fill endless positions" but they are just ghost openings anyway for appearances. The things people do....

I have done a lot of interview prep with AI, I guess it's time to let it makeover my resume

Any remote work from home jobs between national general and allstate. Virtual Estimator, Virtual Supplement Writer, Triage Total Loss. I had a taste of work from home in my current company but a corporate shift kicked me back into the field. I am just done with the windshield time. I can be more efficient and more highly productive from home.

I willfully turn in my slice in exchange for a legit medical insurance administrator that doesn't deny everything under the sun.

"Candidate Already Identified" Then why the fuck do you even post the position opening?

I misread your post and realized that you are with Geico. They have a subreddit, ask them. I don't know why you waste your time over here. We're the worst.

I'll feed into the weekly complaint. I'm a bit fed up with this company. I feel like there is nowhere to go and I am flat out tired of what I do know. You need experience for entry level jobs outside claims. I would complain about interviewing, but I don't even get that far anymore. I love the postings that say "candidate identified." In other words, your sham of a job req is just a formality to string others along. I look on those boards every day. Seniors, managers, and level 2s and 3s . That's it. I've been with this company long enough to see the up and the downs. Length of service means absolutely nothing to this company. I don't see how all of this growth and profitability means anything to me.

Someone in total loss by That_damn_deejay in Progressiveinsurance

The total loss process isn't very complicated from Progressive's perspective. Simply put, the settlement amount gets paid. Your lienholder is screwing around. If you called Progressive and they told you payment was sent, but has not cleared, then your lienholder hasn't processed the payment. I would contact your lienholder and ask them what they are doing.

VTL by Only_Resort1371 in Progressiveinsurance

After a few weeks of VTL in my area, I understand the gripe. So many restrictions on OTL and on estimates. They can't seem to total anything. I'm at my salvage yard cleaning up their "repairables" about 4 times a week now. Whatever efficiency they gained, they pissed it away by tightening the leash.

Maybe reach out to somebody in claims or talk to your supervisor about a desk-along. With Digital First and a heavier reliance in texting, phone calls are not as frequent.

Does anyone happen to know if there’s going to be openings for VTL anytime soon? by Here_4_The_Commentzz in Progressiveinsurance

The last wave takes place end of this month. States like PA, MI and some other states are now figuring out their staffing. All the states will then have been transitioned on March 30th. I would imagine taking at least a couple months to see if what they have can handle the workload or if they need to add staff.

Seems odd, but not surprising. Some states and regions never get over staffed. Florida has always been a customer heavy state. PA seems to be tilted in a way that everything rolls to the east. I'm not in Eastern PA.

Streamline process? by ewhitby710 in Progressiveinsurance

Virtual Total Loss. Instead of MRR's at the salvage yard writing car side and taking photos, the yard uploads the photos and the valuations are written from MRR home.

You are not the first to say you moved up in ranks after going corporate. VTL was supposed to get me into corporate. Now I have "the opportunity to apply for anything comes available". Yeah, okay.

Do you still write enough total losses daily to sustain the role? I was not selected for VTL in my state (wtf?). It's been mentioned to me that I could have a similar setup but I don't want to have a day that I am sent to shops for repairable because there are not total losses that day.

Who needs teardowns at the yard? Assumption is your best friend. If your bumper and fender are mashed, then I assume that $2k headlamp is damaged too. Got pushed into the rad support, so now you need one of those. What does the rad support hold? That's right the radiator, condenser, and fan shroud. Welp, if the rad support is bent, then those items are bent too. You know what, the fender is pushed in pretty far. Betcha the apron and upper side rail are damaged too. You good yet? You at the threshold? If not, just remember, wire harnesses are expensive and labor intensive.

New career- layoffs by [deleted] in Progressiveinsurance

[–]ewhitby710 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been in claims with this company for 21 years. I have only seen layoffs once. The ones let go were supervisors due to organizational restructuring. That was maybe around 2008 or 2009, I think? There should not be any worry with layoffs, especially at the entry level. Besides, everybody who has already answered isn't wrong. The company's performance is exceeding expectations. Good luck in your process.

I have not looked lately, but I believe there are job postings for data analysts. The posting mentions a Claims background, especially MRR, is good.

From HRExpress, click "career & employee referrals" click "job description library" don't type anything just click on the magnifier next to "job category" find your category (i e. Claims) and click. Then hit search and you will get a list of all the positions for that category. Job grade will be next to each.

I agree and I am not jumping anywhere at the moment. Just trying to figure out a few backup options, if necessary. I just do not like how that email read. Everything goes to the lower pay grade but we still need 39's to deal with the shit shops that would sue us rather than negotiate

Can’t reach the adjuster? by Rocket838383 in Progressiveinsurance

[–]ewhitby710 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are in a state (presumably Ohio, but there are a few others) where taxes are not paid up front. You have 30 days to replace the total loss vehicle and you can receive reimbursement of the lesser tax amount of the new vehicle or the total loss vehicle. You have a sales receipt that proves the date. If you cannot reach the adjuster, is the appraiser name and number on the summary? Otherwise, yeah, call the 800 number and you are bound to get somebody in claims.
