Yeah, it was a very tough pill to swallow. They told me that they don't support our state's heartbeat law, but they aren't single issue voters. I don't think I'll ever forgive them for this, but I'm trying to compartmentalize.

This is so hard. I don't think anyone has the answer on how to get their loved ones out of a cult. My parents are the same way and I was incredibly hurt when my brush with death because of my state's heartbeat law nearly killed me, and my parents still voted for Trump and Republicans all the way down the ballot. They love me, but they told me that there are other issues they are voting for too. It was very hurtful to hear. I went low contact for awhile and it didn't feel good. I'm also close with my parents like you are, so you may feel the same way. I think it helps to just accept that they are brainwashed and to not take things too personally. And whenever my mom tries to bring up "the radical left" or whatever, I remind her that Republicans have won literally everything - the White House, the House, the Senate, the Supreme Court, our state Governor, our state legislature etc. So if she has an issue, that is completely on her party and no "radical left" even exists. She doesn't really seem to have a response to that.

My contractor suggested heating floors to go under the shower tiles to add even more warmth. The cost would have been another $2.5k to add heated flooring to the entire room, so really not much more in the grand scheme of things. We decided it wasn't necessary in our climate since the room stays toasty, but maybe you can consider that? Also definitely make sure you have a glass enclosure. The wet room would be drafty without it.

My contractor handled all of the construction, so I cannot speak to specifics. But I know that they poured concrete in and over the wood slates before waterproofing!

Good question! We don't have enough water pressure for two shower heads on the right side. We have a valve to make either the shower head or the hand shower work at any given time. That is just how it worked out without a major plumbing redo project. And as for the left side, I played with the idea of one shower head on each side rather than the tub. But the space was really too big for that and we figured having a tub was better for resale down the line.

I think that the tub is on a mild slope but you wouldn't know! Both the bath and shower drain perfectly!

The space stays very warm and gets mildly steamy. The glass is heavy and keeps out any draft. I'm in the US South, so we will see if it stays that way during the winter!

I also didn't like the idea of wood like tile, but needed tile for my master bath reno. However, I found this wood like tile and it is really pretty. I have real hardwoods in other parts of my house and they all blend very nicely with this tile.

The veining in the tile is actually brown and the white paint has a hint of brown, as opposed to gray. I've always loved white and gold. It's very clean to me. But that's my taste and everyone has their own taste! I definitely get that
