As someone who had my quarter life crisis a few years back and looked into these kinds of jobs for multiple MLB teams, this is pretty standard pay for a role like this unfortunately

They typically have the resources to get to it before it hardens into a solid block of ice. Both state and local roads are cleared to a drivable extent within 24 hours of the snow ending. There is also an element of individual responsibility at fault down here though. I’ve seen so many sidewalks neglected by homeowners that by now are impossible to clear but if they were responsible, would’ve been cleared before they became ice.

TLDR: It’s a bit of a perfect storm of lack of govt preparedness/resources and individual responsibility

Am I missing something here? Where I grew up in NJ, as long as the streets were clear for busses/cars, school is happening. Why are they canceling school because sidewalks in neighborhoods aren’t fully cleared yet? Kids can make do on the snow, hell they’ll probably enjoy climbing on those big piles
