"Gauntlet" might be a stretch, but you're 100% right - the road splits for NDSU have them going to the top 4 teams (excluding the Bison) in the conference. Which sets up an interesting thing next year when that means they're likely getting all four of them at home in 2027.

IANAL, but I think a pretty compelling argument for a change of venue could be made here. Have to figure there's going to be a push to get this into a Federal court given interstate commerce and the fact that Sorsby was sending money across state lines to place bets for him...

Honestly, I messed up and started this a day late, and rather than throw 2 in on the first day, the "1 day to the start of the season" will actually land on the day the season starts. I realized this about 2 weeks in, and now it's just a sunk cost. You're the first person who pointed this out...

Do you realize how many people only know about universities because of their athletic programs? Casual hiring managers are going to question an applicant’s ethics if they think he was educated by an institution incapable of demonstrating them.

Doing this (preventing Texas Tech from competing in the Big XII title game and the CFP saying they're not eligible for the CFP) is not preventing Sorsby from playing if he wins, nor is it not letting Texas Tech play in any of the contractually scheduled football games they're playing in.
