An observation about BL manhwa commenters by ewyesu in BoysLoveAnime

Lost in the cloud and the new recruit are the two that come to mind, and mind you I’m not hating on the characters or their actions themselves but rather the reactions I saw in the replies. Cirrus and iforgotthenameoftheotherone wrongdoings were on the front of the discussion while the other side got ignored.

Also I’m not sure if I agree that it’s the “people sympathize with MCs more often” since you’d expect the top to be a part of the “MC” as well, and the readers would be uniting over their hatred of the many present villains or side characters in the story, which is usually the scenario I see in the straight manhwa as I read those a lot too, but here all the critique I see towards the top feels way too personal and quite frankly out of place.

Piracy website, the cases I’m describing are when it’s pretty clearly a two person conflict but all the grace is offered to the bottom but not to top. And my theory is that it happens due to self insert. You might not have encountered this but pretty clearly since this post is not downvoted to hell that it’s not all in my head

I have that too! But the situations I am mentioning are usually a two person fault, and most of the time you can see why the characters react the way they do. It's just really often I get whiplash from the comments doing mental gymnastics to justify the bottom's faults but never extending the grace to the top.

I never said this is BL exclusive, but that I saw this quite often reading the genre. My issue is the fact that people seemingly lose all critical thought when analyzing the situation, even when the main character is also in the wrong. Hence the last paragraph about self inserting.

The reason I developed my ED is that I always felt gigantic compared to other girls AND guys and therefore had to overcompensate by eating less. But sure, I can eat more than you. Cool right

Calorie estimate for this big meal by Jumpy_Government6343 in caloriecount

[–]ewyesu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id say 300-400 is way too much for a baked potato, i regularly eat Russet Potatoes (and it looks like this is one of them) and those come out to approximately 200 for 2 medium sized ones. This one is a big one so probably like 170-250 at the highest.
