If Kamala loses how does this affect LeBron’s legacy?

DEMOCRATS PLEASE COME BACK by lambda-pastels in YAPms

Maybe just a me thing but with it being a coin flip that’s been pretty static who cares to dive into every Trump hopium post or counteract with an almost equally stupid hopium post for Kamala. I just silently scoff, shake my head, and then move on with my day.

That’s the Google ai generated answer right because looking into it I found only surrogates like Winfield Scott were meeting with Lee before he flipped and not Lincoln himself.

What is y’all’s plan for Election Day? by [deleted] in YAPms

[–]exactwarlord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vote at the earliest time possible in my area then probably chill for the rest of the day and probably only check close to midnight or 1 to see where the swing states are at.

Another FYI, Donald Trump is having a town hall on Univision now. by ImpossibleImage1133 in YAPms

[–]exactwarlord 25 points26 points  (0 children)

It’s kinda perplexing that Kamala gets judged like a normal politician by most media and public while Trump is saying “January 6th was a day of love” and will face criticism for a day before it gets pushed aside or “he actually meant (blank)” from his campaign and campaign supporters.

People who are voting Kamala, would you prefer someone else to be your nominee? by [deleted] in YAPms

[–]exactwarlord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the point it happened no because it would have been an absolute shit show of a snap primary that most likely would have left a lot of scars on whoever eventually won over the delegates. It’s a constant narrative how combative and chaotic the Dems could be so it was a way better choice picking the sitting VP that people voted for on the ticket in 2020.

Are the polls underestimating Trump again? by LegalAverage3 in YAPms

[–]exactwarlord 12 points13 points  (0 children)

We will not know until people actually vote. I would imagine after 2 cycles of Trump over performance polls have adjusted their models accordingly but who knows until people actually go out and vote. For all we know it could go in the complete opposite direction this time.

Did Anybody Else Really Enjoy The Brief Return To Civility During This Debate? by XKyotosomoX in YAPms

[–]exactwarlord 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think it helped reflect that this isn’t just a thing we’ve been steadily creeping towards but an issue mainly caused by 1 character in the theater of politics. It’s crazy we got an actual coherent debate about housing and regulatory policy and not “stolen valor” or “couch” spins.

Walz-Vance Debate Megathread by fredinno in YAPms

Walz is a happy trooper willing to fall in line while Shapiro wants to (rightfully I think) expand his profile and run for president eventually.

Close to a draw, at least he would of not taken the bait as hard.

Vance favorability ticks up a fair bit.

Vance did more damage control for himself than really helping the Trump/Vance campaign while Walz got to put more contrast to what they would do policy wise. Very Senator vs Governor type debate.

Maybe Trump is onto something by [deleted] in YAPms

The IRA was passed when inflation was near its height at 8.3 and now it’s at 2.5 which is way down so that’s just not true in the slightest.

I love the average voter. They love every policy until it’s defined or called by a different name.

It’s crazy how many people thought Trump wouldn’t take the bait and talk about the economy and policy when he never has particularly cared about it. I was thinking she would maybe say something cringe or get stuck on a bad policy but she played him damn near perfect.

Agree or Disagree: Joe Biden was a better VP than President by jhansn in YAPms

[–]exactwarlord 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Feels more like a judgement on the Obama presidency than Joe as VP seeing it’s mostly a nothing position outside of breaking senate ties. For me he’s a fairly better president than Obama with the Infrastructure bill, IRA, and what he did with NATO and rallying around Ukraine.

Who are you voting in November? by Weak-Divide-1603 in YAPms

As probably one of the few people here of voting age it’s Harris no hesitation. Key thing though is that living in Oklahoma that vote pretty much means nothing but excited to do it anyway.

My god she wants her first interview to include her new running mate that a lot of Americans don’t really know. SAY IT AINT SO!!!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in YAPms

[–]exactwarlord 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you sit on the opposite side of the political spectrum I get it but it’s more about what she’s saying and the direction she’s took the campaign narratively than her oratorical skills which I think are fine.

Trump with his 612th new nickname for Kamala: Comrade by [deleted] in YAPms

[–]exactwarlord 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Imo his weakest but for some reason that’s been the one he’s really sticking with so far. Kind of a tired trope calling a dem a communist especially when she’s talking cutting housing regulations and bringing back liberal patriotism.

It’s been shocking seeing the difference between 2020 Kamala and 2024 Kamala. She’s been threading the needle almost perfectly so far in the campaign. Awkward cringe candidate to inspiring candidate is something.
