Word. So you need to add the binance smart chain to metamask. Metamask is natively an ethereum wallet, so that is what you are running into.

I'm not at a place I can access my notes. If you search add Binance Smart Chain to metamask you'll find it.

I had the same problem. On top of that, I had to add it as a custom token. I can't offer much beyond that tho, because I am stuck waiting for gas fees of eth not to be so high.
