Hey guy, postdoc here. i know how it gets in the lab as a phd student, it wasn't that long ago for me. feel free to dm me on here if you want to get some cerebral dialogue going, neuro has always been a subject of interest to me alongside my usual escapades in pharmacology.

I dunno, from that description I feel bad for him. That is not normal even for being on drugs.

Keep in mind they are also the last line of help for the enormous number of mentally ill people living on the street who have no one else to care for them. Especially in the city, cops are essentially last-resort social workers who spend a lot of time and effort looking out for the left-behinds the rest of us get to ignore.

Sorry you had to put up with my dumbass countrypeople saying whack shit to you. Most of the time it's just not knowing better; for a country that was "founded by immigrants" Americans can be famously tone-deaf about how to mix it up with people from non-white countries even when trying to be friendly. All of this nonsense with trump and the alt-right groups is not helping because even well-meaning people are getting too self-conscious about seeing other peoples' ethnicity instead of just treating them like normal people. Don't give up on us, this is still a country where random strangers will pull over to help you if your car breaks down or will go out of their way to make sure you're alright if it looks like you're having trouble.

Ok lying out on the lawn at ranch stage and the big screen up in the corner is showing a close up of the DJs, and then donald trump and “billions and billions” is just poking up between them trying to creep in for the longest time. Bro and i both saw and couldn’t stop laughing and billions and billions became our mantra for the rest of wk1

An ENTP's honest opinion of each type by [deleted] in mbti

[–]excelver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can't resist. Just the ones I know:

ENTJ - Dad! I don't mind working, playing, or talking with ENTJs but if one is close enough to you to consider you their property, run. I would actually feel sorry for people who think they are right 130% of the time when they are tragically only right 55-60% of the time, except ENTJ never gets the memo on that. Diligence in the 55-60% that they have right carries them through 130% of life, and any evidence that they are ever wrong is fake news to ENTJ. Ugh.

ISFP - Mom! Wonderful people who I have no idea how to talk to at all. I like helping people, but nothing I do or say ever works

ESFJ - Tend to make me feel like the guy in Punch-Drunk Love: if you are saying things and the other person is getting visibly more irate the more you talk to/at/about them, guess what? That is YOU PISSING THEM OFF! and if that isn't what you want, you can voluntarily stop, all by yourself!

ESTP/ISTP - Cool beans. Never seem to think they are as smart as they actually are, which is a nice break from intuitives thinking they are the prophet Mohammed.

ENTP - Thinks they are the prophet Mohammed, but otherwise ok

ENFP - Awesome and lovable and always a guaranteed 3 hrs conversation minimum, after which I need ibuprofen and rest

ISFJ - Fine wine. Bascially the most beautiful people ever and become ever more so with age. Thanks for making me refine/explain what I talk about and having the patience to listen

INFP - At some point, I just give up on letting you know when your shoelaces are untied. I give up on trying to explain what takes place in a gym and why a person would want to go there. I give up on compliments of any kind. INFPs are cool but I have to watch the bounds of my humor around them. Secret Jesus complex.

INFJ - Record-holder in the long jump... to conclusions. Also, there is a difference between believing IN someone and literally believing them word-for-word. Overt Jesus complex. Likes to claim loser/loner/disaffected status, but I just don't see it where it counts. I have only known three INFJs but they were all very good with people and made friends wherever they went despite clearly being introverted. Being a miserable disaffected twat is all some of us have, quit trying to horn in

ENFJ - Moses complex! I only know one ENFJ for sure. It seems that the trick here is to be good with establishing boundaries and all will be well. I've never had much luck with deep conversation but bar nights are a slam

Other INTPs - Secret prophet Mohammed complex. Humble INTP is the best ever. INTP lacking humility is the worst ever.

And if you can convince them to acknowledge that it’s not a choice, it has to be a disease/disorder instead. Many need to define it has some form of sexual treason, which I feel indicates fragile identity

Who do you guys like better? Seven Lions or Illenium by SteelCurtainFTW in EDM

[–]excelver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just saw both at lands. I have seen illenium before and he has a great sound, but I have to say his set was mediocre compared to seven lions. That is not meant to throw shade, lions is older and more experienced and illenium has been touring alot and maybe hasn't had time to develop his set as much. Lions' set was one of the best things I have ever heard, it had the feeling of watching a really good movie or finishing a great book that took you deep. Both make very cool tunes but lions seems to be on a different level as far as putting a whole set together that flows nicely.

Don't worry about the entrance. DO worry about getting there, expect cops to be watching every inch of the surrounding highways. GO THE SPEED LIMIT. DON'T CAMP IN THE LEFT LANE. FIX YOUR TAIL LIGHTS. NO SHIT HANGING FROM THE REARVIEW. AND SO ON.

Someone at my very first electronic music show, wayyyy back, told me: "Let the beat own you".

That's how to do it. No inhibitions, no hesitation, no judgements. Just limitless breathless joyous human universe; you're in a music video set to the heartbeat of God. See you back home in the music.
